Upton Country Park is still a great place to go for a walk with your Dog, though it has become more commercialised recently. Parking fees apply in main car park areas, which will put off some people, but nevertheless still a beautiful part of Upton.

Spent a lovely day walking round the extensive grounds, had afternoon tea, looked round the art exhibition and then had a tour of the house for the bargain price of £1.50. A real local gem that should be supported.

Sure it’s lovely in the summer, but on a cold day when you haven’t got a dog, it’s a bit dull!
The majority of the plants in the walled garden are dead, and the plant shop that opens in March wasn’t open!
Cafe was okay!
Wouldn’t go without a dog though!

We were here to see the birds specifically. And we were not disappointed. There is a walk on Thursday mornings, with an RSPB leader who is highly knowledgeable and helpful. A very likeable chap. Many of the group were regulars, but we first-timers were made welcome and were helped to enjoy the birds on the walk. Several of the group had powerful scopes that were open to all for use. it was a really great day. We saw so much. We also went the following day by ourselves, but sadly the weather was against us. Steady drizzle reduced visibility and well as the number of birds out and about. Nonetheless, we did spot some gems even in that weather.
there is a coffee shop for refreshments. But the coffee was dire in our view! good hot chocolate though and friendly staff.

I do love this place any time of the year:) usually the cafe offers a nice coffee but the menu is limited so don’t bother to eat here. However today it was ridiculously busy and to be honest was a little chaotic. However sitting in the sun in the courtyard out of the chilly wind was a treat.
