Returned to this grand old lady for this years 60's music event. After 3 nights, up until 2am, it felt like I'd been on an endurance test by Monday morning! Room was very clean and overlooked the bay, we took another couple with us this year and their room was similar. Food, again this year, was tasty, varied and plentiful, I think my trouser waist band shrunk during my stay! The bar prices are on a level with pub prices, not elevated hotel prices.
I would recommend, again, staying in this hotel if you like a little character rather than the bland sameness of the modern offering.

Room Tip: Ask for a premier room

As part of my parents Christmas gift and birthday treat we booked them into The Grand Hotel. They loved every minute ! After emailing head office to request a Higher grade room on arrival they were give a choice of rooms - obviously due to them being under occupied.
From the room to the food to the entertainment my mother and father loved it. Not being able to drink from the Tap had no impact on their stay!! - previous review??!! Get a life!
They were given first class customer service and I wish to thank you all for making their stay so pleasurable .

Booked the hotel through Britannia the hotel chain. On arrival reception staff were uninterested and just handed over an envelope no direction to the breakfast room the lifts nothing. Having found our room we read the leaflets to discover you cannot drink the tap water in the hotel. I went back to reception where a different member of staff was and asked them why we are not told this when booking he stated Welsh Water had condemned the water tank as unfit to drink so be prepared to find a local shop and stock up on bottled water. The wi fi is not in all areas just in reception and even then not the best again I was not told this when booking I was told the hotel has full wi fi. So complete!y awful staff at the hotel, not being told all the facts when booking so terrible experience.
To make matters worse I wrote a letter complaining about my stay wife my wife and nine year old son two days after returning home, no response, so I emailed Brittania hotels complaining about the stay and the fact they had not replied to me letter, four months later still no response.
I would strongly recommend you do not stayat this hotel and if you do don't be surprised when they spring these surprises on you. And I wouldn't waste your time complaining as they simply don't care.

We where very sorry to read your review and that you found the service you received on arrival to be lacking as we receive many lovely comments on how friendly and helpful our reception team are. Letters of complaint sent to me are very few and far between and I reply to every one personally but unfortunately I can find no letter complaining about the water or the Wi-Fi, my apologies on this. Our brochure and website advertise free Wi-Fi for guests but make no mention of it being available in the rooms as like most hotels it is only available on the ground floor.
I can assure you that our water tanks are not and never have been condemned by any one, they are drained and serviced without fail and records kept of this. Welsh water suggest we advise guests that the water is from storage tanks and not a mains supply, as we do. As a company the health and safety of our guests is our top priority. I apologise if there was any confusion over this matter.
I am very sorry that the tap water and the lack of Wi-Fi in you bedroom led to such an awful experience.
The Grand hotel is open every day of the year and we accommodate between 250 - 350 guests every day. We try very hard to please everyone but this is of course not possible. We are proud to say that we do please 99% of our guests but unfortunately there will always be the 1% who are not happy and it is this small percentage who write negative reviews and recommend people not to stay in a hotel and very rarely the larger percentage who write the nice ones and do recommend. We do hope you will choose to stay at the Grand again and we will endeavour to ensure your stay is a pleasurable one.

We have just had a one night stay at The Grand. Thanks to Tracey on Reception (she changed our room so I could have a bath) and her pleasant manner thereafter, we had a lovely stay, Yes its old, I think it adds to the charm, food was plentiful, sheets crisp and clean, overall good value, will be visiting again next month with my Mum. thanks again Tracey,

My wife and I look after people with learning
Disability .we had a lady and gentleman with us
We found the stay very enjoyable with entertainment
Both afternoon and night.food was good and enjoyed buffet breakfast.staff were very helpful
And pleasant.the only gripe I have was the shower
Two small and could not get water right either to
Hot or two cold .but will go back
All in all had a good stay
