Absolutely lovely house. Fantastic location in the centre of Mumbles. Few minutes walk down to the Prom and a wonderful walk along the bay to the Pier. 4 minutes drive to a lovely sandy beach. Highly recommend.
We decided to visit south Wales as part of our annual golf trip, four 40+ something gents, and after much searching decided that this wonderful cottage in the Mumbles fitted the bill perfectly, even if I was slightly concerned about whether I would fit in the bunk beds (the good news is I can confirm the bunk beds are suitable even if you are 6ft tall)!
The cottage is in a great location, easy walking to everything in the Mumbles and a substantial Tesco Express is all of 100 yards away. The cottage is very well equipped and has everything you need. The two off-street parking spots are very handy as I can imagine parking can be difficult in the area.
We would definitely recommend the area for golf we played Pennard, Machynys Peninsula, Ashburnham and Royal Porthcawl. All were brilliant with Porthcawl being the cherry on the cake and we were relieved Machynys wasn't as brutal as the pictures may suggest, but watch out for the back 9 at Pennard, that is tough.
We somehow managed to pick a weekend when the British summer arrived, so had glorious weather and made everything perfect. South Wales is now definitely on our tour rosta and we still have to sample Pyle and Kenfig and Langland Bay which is just round the corner. The cottage having good wi-fi also allowed us to view the US Open while we were there.
Kathryn provided lots of information prior to our visit and we are really grateful for allowing us to stay in her wonderful cottage. I think we are all considering returning with our families considering how close the cottage is to all amenities and the beach and in such a great area. I know my boys would enjoy it.
A great cottage, a great location and I look forward to visiting again.
Fantastic location right next to Oystermouth Castle. Very short walk down a steep hill to the coast road with lots of shops and walks along the mumbles. The property was very well maintained and is very spacious and comfortable. The private parking spaces were important as street parking is impossible near the house. I would love to stay here again in the future.
This cottage is in a great location if you're visiting Mumbles. Close to the main street and Oystermouth Castle (as in over the road from the castle!). We had a lovely home-style stay in the cottage. The kids loved the playroom. Sky TV was a bonus. We enjoyed the log burner in the lounge, it made it very cosy on a cold night. The beds are comfortable. Note - the bunk room is really only suitable for small children. Kathryn is a friendly host and even though she is not onsite, she was available promptly when we had a question.
Stayed for 1 week 10th sept 2016. Really couldn't fault this property. Loads of room for 6 adults. Location was excellent, just slightly back from The Mumbles High Street so very easy to walk to the shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Lots of choice for eating from pub meals to lovely restaurants. The bay was easily reached also with lovely pedestrian walkways all along so no worry about the traffic. For the energetic you can walk from Mumbles right around the bay to Swansea or in the other direction pick up the coastal path as this is the gateway to the Gower peninsular. Some really spectacular views. The house is very close to the Oystermouth Castle which has green park space so great if you take a dog. (We took two)! All in all a very nice place to stay and we would definitely go back.
