Clean airy reception and very helpfull polite members of staff. Doubleroom was small but very functional, clean and fresh.
Resturant on 5th floor with great view. Scandinavian breakfast buffy with limited choice.
The interior and soft furnituring is very "Austin Powers"

Rooms had to be with a view, but the rooms overlook inner yard with trash bins. No soap in the wc, in the waredrobe we found someone's things left, the plastic glasses in the bath broken. Breakfast buffet very poor.

My room was not being cleaned despite the fact that there is no personal belongings on the bed. The towel was not changed although it was on the floor. Moreover, the room is smelly although I have tried to open the window.

Like all hotels we booked through Norway in a Nutshell, this one was comfortable, had a good breakfast, and was convenient. Don't be put off by having to take the light rail from the boat docks. Find the station (a few blocks from the docks), swipe your credit card and get off at the 5th stop. Cross the street (Fjosangerveien, by walking underneath), and walk uphill Ibsens Gate to Vikens Gate. Can't miss it. There's a convenience store right next to the hotel too.

We had great views of the city from our room, the breakfasts were great, and the room was perhaps the most modern of our stay here in Norway.

About that modernity--There doesn't seem to be any furniture with a right angle, and the carpeting and room numbers are rather psychedelic. But setting that aside, it was a perfectly adequate place to stay.

Ok, so this hotel's decor will not be to everyone's taste, but so what!? As a base to sleep and eat (breakfast was included for us) for 3 nights it was perfect, even more so as it was a budget option so it was MUCH cheaper than other hotels. It was out of the centre, about a 25 minute walk, but if you get a Bergen card transport is free which means you can easily get the light rail from Danmarkplass which is only a couple of minutes walk away and very frequent and takes you straight to the centre (Byparken). The journey takes about 5-10 minutes. Being out the way also meant no noise from the streets at night which I think can be an issue with other hotels in the centre from reading some other reviews. You are also blessed with beautiful views of the hills opposite - we asked for a mountain view room when booking. Good choice at breakfast - scrambled eggs, mini sausages, ham, cheeses, bread, cereals, boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt and muesli. Considering how expensive Norway is this was definitely a bonus. Staff were friendly and the building and room itself were clean. I would definitely recommend getting the Flybussen from the airport as it's quick, easy and cheap. You can book a return journey from the airport online and the stop is only a 10 minute walk to the hotel. Ask to be dropped off at Danmarkplass (the bus stop is just a little up from the light rail stop). A nice little feature was the Air Play streaming between our Apple devices and the TV. My only criticism would be the blinds. Rather than having one panel across the window there were two which meant a lot of light was coming through the gap in the middle (especially this time of year when the sun doesn't really set properly). Just seemed a shame as one panel would have sorted that out easily. So maybe take a sleeping mask if you're someone easily effected by light when sleeping. Overall lovely stay, thank you.
