Nice selection of art, Edvard Munch's The Scream is of course the main attraction and you may have to queue a bit to get even close to it as people flock around it taking pictures while doing the same expression (please don't do that). You have to leave backpacks and other bigger bags to lockers before entering the gallery.

A good sized gallery with some famous pieces (The Scream, Rodin’s Thinker). Well presented with the right level of information.

This is a great museum with a great collection and temporary exhibitions that soon will close prior to the opening of the new museum.

Have been to Dublin one and it's much the same. Some cool artefacts and displays but it's all a bit lifeless (excuse the pun.) They've a nice souvenir shop but I felt that it could be a little bit more interactive given the technologies available today. Went here on the Oslo pass and think it was reasonable without it anyway. Easy to access by walking or public transport.

I went here on quite a busy Saturday, still enjoyed it a lot.
You cannot bring bags or purses over a certain size, but they provide lockable lockers within the wardrobe for you to safely store your stuff. This is included in the entrance free of 100 kr.
The exhibition is not the largest, but it contains many great works of famous Norwegian painters like Munch, Krohg, Kittelsen, Tiedeman etc.. as well as works by more famous artists like Picasso, Monet among others.
