Loved this museum, the Viking History is so interesting and to be able to provide the general public with so much of the viking memorabilia is fantastic.
Definitely worth going to this museum.

Visiting from the UK. We got the Oslo pass so this museum was free for us. They do everything possible to bring the experience alive apart from having a real Viking! It was a small but beautiful museum and well worth a visit.

It is amazing that the Vikings could sail the oceans with these ships - which to me looked like overgrown boats with hardly any facilities to speak of. The sailors must have been really tough, to say the least. The ships are housed in a building with a facility by which you can climb to a height from where the boats decks can be seen. The management has organized the movement of tourists very well. We had a guide who explained everything very neatly. A camera is a must. There is a fair amount of walking so a pair of sturdy walking shoes would be a great advantage. You would do well to carry a water bottle too. I was very interested in all the exhibits and spent time. It would take an earnest tourist about an hour to an hour and a half to see all the exhibits.

Seeing the old Viking Ships and hearing their history was very interesting. To see what they could do without all the Technology we have if fascinating.
