Thanks for taking the time to write a review about our house. It seams as if you enjoyed your stay and we would love to welcome you again some time.
Situation : in the city center, really close to Stephanplatz (5 min walk), the Oper (5 min walk) and one of the main shopping street (Kamtner Strasse)... close to museums (Albertina, Hofburg,...) without taking any transports...
Maybe a bit difficult to find it... but only for those who haven't look the pictures of the entrance... The elevator might be slow, but ok...
- Reception : really nice persons and helpful (you can leave your luggages the day you check-in and out)...
- Single room : quiet, single bed, room with typical austrian decoration, a desk, a board, room not big but really cosy... no air conditionning but there is a fan if needed... free wifi...
- Bathroom : really functionnal with shower...
- Breakfast : not a huge one, but enough and various to start the day... (Tea, coffee, milk, fruit juice, cheese, eggs, sausages, marmelade, breads, cereals, yogourts,...)
There is a little book in the room with all the informations needed and the Pension services... (stamps, kettel, tourists informations,...)
Next time I will come back here for sure... Danke für alles... :)
Thank you for writing such a lovely and long review about our Pension Aviano. We are so pleased that you enjoyed staying with us and that you are very satisfied with our service.
Your are welcome to return any time you want to!
This lovely little hotel (=pension) is in the middle of the city, within walking distance to pretty all the major sights (except Schönbrunn). Nice friendly staff, good breakfast, free wifi. the rooms are small but clean, functional and decorated in a Wienese barock style :-)
Nothing really to complain about. Oh yeah - the mattresses in the beds are a bit hard...
Thanks for writing a review about Pension Aviano. The new mattresses are a bit harder, yes. But we had some complains in the past about mattresses being to soft. Thats why we changed them, but we still have a few of the newer mattressess which are softer. ´So it is too hard, please check with the Reception and we can change them.
We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the rest of our service.
it's a pension,not a hotel.Home atmosphere,very clean.Baroque -like decor in the rooms.Rooms aren't large,equipped with a shower but no bath.A delightful breakfast area with a small roof terrace open on sunny days.Location fantastic.Simple,clean,central,polite and helpful staff.Would return.
Thanks for taking the time to write a review and thank you for mentioning that we are a Pension and not a Hotel.
We hope to welcome you again.
I just returned home from another fabulous trip Vienna. I stayed at the Pension Aviano AGAIN.... in fact, this was my 7th stay over the last 10 years. How do I know? They had it in the computer and acknowledged me as a return guest with a bottle of wine and an upgraded room. My sister and I stated in room 413 and it was PERFECT. The room was spacious and very clean. We used both the bed and the pull-out sofa bed. They were both very comfortable. Along with the sofa, we also had 2 nice chairs to sit in while watching TV (table, too). There were also 2 chairs and a small table in front of the window so we could enjoy watching the people walk along Kartnerstrasse.
The hotel is located on Marco d'Avianogasse. Walking from the Opera house towards the center of town, it's about the 3rd side street on the left. There is a Douglas drug store and a Swarvoski store on the corners where you turn left - also a flower stand. Turn left and go past the flower stand and wine bar... the entrance is just to the right of the wine bar. Take the lift (or stairs if you dare) to the 6th floor. You will receive a friendly greeting and a smile!
We arrived at 9:30 AM and our room was not available yet (and we did not expect it to be). However, they allowed us to change our clothes/freshen up and leave our luggage. We came back around 11:00 AM and our room was available at about 11:30. Check in is not until around 2:00 PM so we were very pleased to get into our room by noon.
A few things to remember.... this is a PENSION, not a hotel. Make sure you know the difference and set your expectations accordingly. The building is old and is not air conditioned. Many older buildings do not have AC. You can open the windows - expect some street noise (bring earplugs). Breakfast is amazing. It's not an 'American-Style' buffet so do not expect to have pancakes and sausage. There is a great selection of cereal, cheese, meat, bread, milk and juice. They offer coffee and tea at breakfast and in the afternoon between 2 PM and 8 PM.
I LOVE the Pension Aviano and will stay there every time I go to Vienna. The family who owns the Pension is wonderful - everyone is nice, friendly and VERY helpful. If you need something, ask nicely..... they will do their best to accommodate.
Thanks for another WONDERFUL stay in Vienna!!
A great Thank you for such a pleasent and long review. Everything your wrote is correct and true. We are hard to find, small on the last floors of the building. Our guests can arrive at any time and leave the luggage. If we have ealrly check outs we can also clean the rooms earlier.
Room 413 is one of our best rooms with a wonderful view to St. Stephanscathedral. Unfortunately it is also the most expensive one.
We look forward to your next stay!
The Pension is in a perfect location. The rooms are comfortable and spotless. The staff is professional and warm. We learned of this Pension aboout 10 years ago and make it a point to stay there each time we visit Vienna.
thanks for the review about Aviano. We are very proud that you enjoy our house that much, that you come back several times for so many years.
We look forward to your next stay.
