Furniture is not exactly new, the rooms are small, no bathrobes or slippers you can go to the pool and sheet torn, towels really used, curtains torn, I paid 2 months in advance but the front desk when we checked in we were asked warranty 100 euro (I never been asked at another hotel in the world ) and also was not announced either on site or by mail or telephone the guarantee so if you go with counted t money to put aside for the hotel, parking is expensive 21 euros per day. (we parked at P + R 3 euros., ptr. Internet is paid 16 euros per day and from the outside the hotel looks like a office building. This hotel obvious dosent deserve the 5 stars.

Third time in Vienna, first time at this hotel. It's in a quiet residential neighborhood and not in the city center, but Vienna has an excellent transit system, so on the U4 subway (which is just across the street from the hotel - Miedling Hauptstrasse station) you're about 10 minutes from the heart of the city. I didn't opt for the breakfast but it looked worth it if you're one of theose people who can't start a day without it. The room was rather large; my only complaint would be the lack of a tea kettle, though the staff was very nice and always provided hot water when we needed it.

If you're into beer and great food, here are a few suggestions:
1. Salm Brau (brewpub on Rennweg street by Belvedere Palace - I tried everything they had on tap and they just got better and better; good spareribs too)
2. Stern Brau (on Siebensterngasse) again great beer
3. Grinzing Brau (in Vienna's picturesque suburb of Grinzing, about 25 minutes from the city center on the number 38 tran from Schottentor University subway station) the ribs are to die for and really are worth the 25 minute wait.
4. I can't recall the name of the restaurant, but its on a side street called Buchfeldgasse [walking away from the ring road on Josefstadter Strasse about 5 blocks, turn right onto Buchfeldgasses, walk past the Alpha hotel and the restaurant is on the next corner on the right], run by a nice woman named Christina Cumpelik, there's no English menu but the schnitzel is mouthwatering.

If you're going for the Xmas markets, I thought the best ones are at the Rathaus/City Hall, Schonbrunn Palace, and Am Hof/Freyung Squares.

Do try to see a play at the Vienna English Theater (www.englishtheatre.at). Also check out a concert at the Musikverin Hall, i.e. I saw the Vienna Boy's Choir there for the pittance of 5 Euros.

It has comfortable rooms, good bed, hot shower, clean, Wi-Fi in all the rooms, good breakfast and the staff is very friendly. Also has a swimming pool and a fitness center.
The only minus is that it's located in district 11, far away from city center (if you think: districts are in circle from 1 - historic center until 23), but it's next to a metro station, which you can go fast to the center. It's not cheap.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in late November 2009 attending meetings. The hotel is located on a very busy street and not in the most attractive parts of central Vienna however just some subway stops away from the famous tourist spots. The staff are all friendly and make you feel welcome (after all, this is Marriott and they know one or two things in this area) they recognized me as a Marriott reward member and gave me some special attention checking in. They also fulfilled my pillow and room request. The rooms are ok and will meet your expectations of a 4 star hotel however I found my room not very clean. There were some mold stains in the bathroom and despite front desk telling me I had a smoke free room it smelled tobacco and I could even find cigarette stains on the carpet and in the bathroom. That was very disappointing however keep in mind this is central Europe where unfortunately smoking at hotels still in 2009 is allowed. I needed to increase my Asthma medication in order to cope with the cigarette smell in the room. Also, I was surprised to find that in Austria smoking is still allowed in hotel lobbies and in the restaurants so the whole hotel was kind of smelling like an ashtray to be honest. This was disappointing and not very modern. Now, the best part, the food. I have travelled quite a bit and have to say that the breakfast buffet is one of the most generous and well tasting I have ever had. You will find all that you can ever dream of and best quality. We also had lunches at the hotel and they served a lunch buffet to die for, delicious is an understatement. So to summarize. Stay here is you want a comfortable hotel centrally located and with just some subway stops away from the tourist spots and if you love great food and don’t mind cigarette smoke.

Got an upgrade to a business room... thank god for that. Quite large room but old fashioned! Nice amenities in the bathroon and free minibar. The pool and sauna are nice but the gym very small. Breakfast was free for me because I am a platinum marriott member. Otherwise: 23 Eur!! Too expensive.
Better value for monay next door at the Courtyard Schönbrunn! Nicer than the Renaissance...
