The cafe Hofburg is located right next to the entrance of the Sisi museum and the imperial apartments. The cafe Hofburg is located right next to the entrance of the Sisi museum and the imperial apartments., making it the ideal place to relax and have a snack before or after a visit to the imperial palace. The unique location of our terrace in the inner courtyard of the imperial palace, gives you the opportunity to experience 600 years of Hapsburg history whilst having a cup of coffee and eating piece of delicious cake.

While visiting the Hofburg Pakace , Spanish horses and all the other attractions nearby it was great to sit and enjoy the surroundings in the sunshine and people watch . The apple strudel and Vienna coffee was superb as well ..a deal for 10 euros ...worth it! Service was efficient with a pleasant smile ...watch the horses and carriages amble through as well

After touring the Hofburg Palace also known as Imperial Palace in Vienna, we had lunch at the Cafe Hofburg. It was a sunny day and we ate in the terrace. My husband had the cheeseburger and fries and I had the Chef salad. Both of us were happy with our choices. His burger was very good and it was enormous! My Chef salad was fresh and delicious! We saved room to sample Emperor Franz Joseph's favorite dessert: Kaiserschmarrn. It is a shredded pancake with golden raisins, served with stewed plums and apple purée. It is a bit like bread pudding. We both liked it very much!

It takes awhile to tour the entire palace so it's nice to have a break and enjoy the ambiance and the delicious food!

Had lunch with friends in the outdoor seating of Hofburg cafe. Host was't particularly helpful but we found a table just being vacated and staked our claim! Our waiter cleaned it promptly and returned quickly for drink orders. Their Vienna pilsner draft was a great tasting light and refreshing beer, perfect for the heat of the day. 2 sizes, 0.3 and 0.5 L.
My wife and I split a tuna salad and a wiener schnitzel. The schnitzel breading was light and crunchy but the meat was not at all dried out. It came with a tasty German potato salad. The Tuna salad was a nice mix including had boiled egg and olives. One of our friends who is vegetarian had the spinach strudel which came with a small salad. It was also very good. Couldn't leave Vienna without a dessert and coffee. Shared 1 Sacher torte and 1 apple strudel with vanilla sauce. Both were delicious and well presented. Cost was about 22E plus gratuity, steeper than our usual lunch but delicious, well served, and in the courtyard of the Hapsburg dynasty's palace. A great experience.

I cannot comment on the lunches here however on two separate occasions when visiting Vienna I always stop here to have a piece of apple streudel which is excellent and comes with two big scoops of ice cream or a huge dollop of cream. You do not have to be taking a tour of the palace to enjoy the large menu of nummy deserts, iced coffee and of course their delicious apple streudel.
