We stayed at Pakat Suites for 4 days and really appreciated the spacious rooms, with separate WC and shower/bath, wardrobe room, lounge and balcony. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to Karlsplatz, so it's pretty central. The area is very safe and it's also very close to Belvedere palace. We had beautiful summery weather, so we got to explore quite a few parts of Vienna, including the zoo and Schonbrunn, district 7, shopping in the centre, Naschmarkt (beautiful food market, but pricey), Stephansdom and lots of other churches. We went out to a few bars and clubs and unfortunately smoking is still permitted indoors... but i think this is about to change.
Back to the hotel, we brought our own laptop with us and the internet wasnt working inside the room, but you could connect to free wifi in the lobby which did the job. I think there was a fault with our room's internet cable.
They gym was good, although there were no mirrors inside, which is quite odd for a gym. Also there was no TV, so i had to use my ipod on the treadmill. Nevertheless it was a well equipped gym.
Compared to the prices you pay when you stay near Stephansdom, i think Pakat is a much better option.More
