Arrived late one evening with friends after dinner and drinks. One of the party did not have her passport with her do we weren't able to gain admission to the main casino. Wandered about the more public area which was very nice with period touches. I don't know why but the main area was decorated pink, perhaps as part of some summer art event. There were pink checked walls, sofas, armchairs and even a bed all decorated in the same colour scheme. Bizarrely it also included a pink checked roulette table. Definitely different.

It is one of the best attractions in Monte-Carlo. You can enter the casino up to a point for free and then you have to pay.

Attended a function here at this historical iconic building. The palatial decor exudes a mood full of romance, the presence of Royalty and the rich and famous. Memories of blockbuster films featuring the stars through the decades. Quite an experience, still a thrill even though this was not my first visit , I’d been before many years ago.

Amazing structure, it looks like they finished yesterday. We visited during a monsoon but that didn’t matter, everything was so clean and the staff did everything they could to help us dry up and feel welcome. Security is very strict but everywhere you go these days it’s the same thing so no biggie. The fact that in order to save the small country they sold most of their land to the French and with the proceeds they built this majestic casino which saved the second smallest country in the world is one hell of a historic fact.

Expectations were high... and we were amazed about the fact that we could get in without suit and tie. 12 Euros will get you in, which can be redeemed for something, but we were not able to figure out (which seems to be the purpose ...) There is a restaurant inside and nice bar. The building and atmosphere is very , very nice but not quite as imagined from the many many movies.
