Ok, it IS the Casino of the Monte Carlo. You can't escape it no matter how indifferent you are. But I would recommend to stay on the free of charge area (if you are only visiting and not intend to play). Before 2:00 pm you can enter with plain clothes (tie and jacket required all other times) but you have to go through strict security, similar to airport. You can admire the ornamental decor and the vitro glass ceiling of the main room and also have a glance of the first section of the casino where the slot machines are. Beyond that point you need to pay entrance fee of 12 euros, not worth it in my humble opinion.

I was expecting much more from reading the reviews maybe because I thought it was going to be like Las Vegas Casino's the only plus side was that there were guards men and lots of stunning luxurious cars parked outside. Many tourists outside snapping pictures but only a limited amount of people going in. This may be due to the time of year? ?

If Las Vegas is the US gambling mecca this is Europe's except way more luxurious. Vegas has gambling 24/7 gut Monaco doesn't begin until after 2 pm or so. We took a quick look inside and there was an art installation by Charles Kaisin that was just the tackiest thing ever called Lets Fall in Diamonds

The lobby and atrium areas were draped in red/white checked cloth similar to the plastic tablecloths for picnics but further thought by us found the same design in the crest of Prince Albert so maybe that's where it was from. Whomever approved this 3 month installation needs to have their tastebuds aligned!

We visited on a Sunday. Free to enter the lobby before 2pm. Exciting just to enter the famous building. Had a glass of wine at the bar on hindsight should have ordered a martini shaken not stirred LOL

What an elegant place to visit. The interior is even more superb than the facade of the building which is exquisite! The gambling area, bar and even gathering areas are all uniquely decorated and a feast for the eyes.
