Aphrodite Hills is a beautiful resort as a luxurious and quiet base. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing break. It is modern, spacious, clean and equipped with all essentials. A small pack of washing up liquid, cloth and a washer tablet was supplied, along with 2 toilet rolls. Towels for apartment and pool were there, changed once during our 12 day stay. There is ample wardrobe hanging space and an easy to use safe. The apartment is very well located for the lovely shared pool and a 10 minute walk to the village area. 2 door keys instead of just one would be an advantage. The bus service from beside the golf club is frequent, excellent and very cheap. The supermarket is well stocked but overpriced. Restaurant choice is good, priced a little higher than some places, as is to be expected. Car hire would be an advantage if you want to see surrounding areas (and they drive on the same side of the road as in England). Had a great wedding and honeymoon here. Hiring the hotel gazebo for a private dinner was not cheap at 250 euros plus food etc but was so lovely it was really worth it.
We have recently returned from a very nice two week stay in this apartment. It is a first floor apartment with a pool view. The two balconies are an added bonus as it gives you enough outside space to eat or relax outside if the mood takes you. The only downside with this apartment was the noise of shouting children from the pool throughout the day; but maybe that is to be expected at the height of summer. It may be different out of the high season.
This self-catering apartment has all the basic appliances and utensils you would need: We found that having a washing machine was particularly useful on holiday. Visitors should appreciate that they need to take or buy all the self-catering essentials such as washing up liquid, washing tablets, etc. as this is up to the guest to provide. The apartment is modern and in good condition. Everything was clean and well maintained.
The apartment is located a nice 10 minute walk from the central facilities. The village square has a supermarket and a range of restaurants, but they are slightly more expensive than if you venture further afield, and it is advisable if you are going in peak times to book well in advance wherever you may want to eat.
Aphrodite Hills is definitely the place to stay in Cyprus if you are into Golf. The Aphrodite Hills course is renowned as the best in Cyprus. There are two more courses under construction in Secret Valley (adjacent to the resort) which will be ready by 2014 and a fourth course (at Elea) 10 minutes down the road.
You definitely need to rent a car (as we did) if you are staying in any villa or apartment within the Aphrodite Hills resort. Although the resort has lovely facilities, there is also plenty more to see and do within the locality; especially in Paphos (20 mins drive) and the villages of Pissouri, Pissouri Bay and Kouklia, all within a short drive. You will severely miss out on all that this area of Cyprus has to offer if you don't have a car.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment and would recommend visiting Aphrodite Hills to anyone. It is a lovely resort in a fantastic country.
