This is a beautiful church and the setting allows you to soak up the place. You need a car and time. Well worth a visit.

“stunning views”
Reviewed 30 January 2012

this is a particularly beautiful and peaceful monastery; after a nightmare drive in the mountains it was a panacea to the soul!
What a lovely place to come for a retreat.

Reviewed 23 January 2012

You need to hire a car to get to it but well worth the trouble if you are interested in Greek Orthodox frescoes

“Bad luck Erik............”
Reviewed 12 January 2012

Tucked away from the sea-front (get your free local street map from the tourist office!) is this small church. BUT that's not the attraction, it's the ruins of the enormous 7 aisled basilica in the grounds that are the attraction. Mosaics and fallen columns abound, there's even the post to which St Paul was allegedly tied (nice bit of concrete there) and a small plaque to a Danish King Hadjigud who apparently died there some time about 1108(?). Bad luck Erik...........
