I stayed in apartment 2 for 5 days with my wife and 3 1/2 year old daughter in November. Right from the start, when I booked through TripAdvisor, I knew that I'd made the right choice of accommodation in Malta as all my emails were answered extremely promptly and courteously.
Patrick picked us up at the airport and on the way to Valletta it became very obvious that he is an extremely proud Maltese man as he gave us a brief introduction to Malta and recommended some sites to visit.
On arrival at the apartment, we were very pleased with the level of finish, it's even better than the pics, and the welcome pack of wine, bread, milk etc was very useful and appreciated. The Wifi is also good and there are about 9 English channels available on the flatscreen TVs.
The apartment is VERY central, the bakery next door is really handy and the bread is delicious, they also sell wine, beer and have a small selection of groceries.
Valletta is definitely the best place to stay in Malta, the bus station is just around the corner, there are Ferries to the Three Cities and Silema and there is plenty to see and do with loads of restaurants and no shortage of bars. It's a bit quieter than Silema but that is no bad thing. Valletta has some beautiful architecture and a certain character which grows on you.
We shall be back, and we'll try to stay with Patrick, he's a great host.
The apartment is exactly as shown. It's clean, modern and comfortable. Although we chose to eat out most of the time it's fully equipped for cooking & dining. We live in a Victorian apartment conversion so the distance from the bedroom to the bathroom was nothing new to us. This is an old Valletta building which has been modernised for comfort without losing the appeal or charm of the original building. The location is excellent for exploring Valletta & the 'three cities' across the Grand Harbour & for buses to anywhere in Malta (only 1.50 euro return!). Patrick was very welcoming & very keen to ensure we had the best stay. The roof garden is very pretty & has spectacular views. There always seemed to be a sunny spot and a shady spot whatever time of day. The only word of caution would be that the additional charge for electricity is a bit pricey compared to our home bills - it was 15 euros for the week so you need to budget for this - especially if you want to use the air conditioning a lot. You can keep an eye on what you're using though so its not a surprise at the end of the stay. I highly recommend both the apartment & Valletta.

We stayed in apartment 2. It had all amenities advertised, was nicely furnished with both a double and single bedroom and was very well located in Valetta. Patrick the host picked us up late on a Sunday night from the airport. He also provided a welcome pack of wine, fruit, bread and milk which was very welcome, at that time of night. The apartment was close to the bus station. Our only quibble was that the bathroom and main bedroom were at different ends of the apartment, and the washing machine had no washing powder. The rooftop terrace was excellent with a great view of Valetta, the 3 cities and the harbour: we partook of this terrace one beautiful evening. Valetta is busy in the day, many shops shut quite early and is quiet at night so you have to be ready for a more relaxed experience. However the small cafe next door sells some food (an excellent almond tart and apple pie, for instance) as well as milk and bread. Patrick is an enthusiastic host and will look after you very well.

Initial Communication :::
My boyfriend and I stayed in Apartment two between the 14th and the 20th September and truly could not rate it more highly. As a Wary and unconfident traveller, I was impressed by Patrick right from our very first email. He was efficient at responding to my numerous queries and always seemed happy to go that extra step to ensure that I understood the whole booking process.
Our arrival :::
We were greeted at the airport by Patrick and his brother who drove us, and the other guests, back to our respective apartments. Once into our holiday home we were given an extremely thorough tour as well as instructions on how to use various kitchen/bathroom appliances. As we expected, Patrick was an attentive host and really went above and beyond to ensure that he did not leave us with any unanswered questions. On his departure he left us with written guidance and useful notes for the flat, along with his contact details stating that he would be available 24/7 should we ever need his assistance.
Essentials provided in the apartment :::
Patrick left us a welcome pack for our arrival including essentials such as milk, tea & coffee, bread, butter, jam and fresh fruit. He also left us with some traditional maltese cakes and a bottle of wine- a really thoughtful extra which proved extremely useful as we arrived late on a Sunday.
The apartment was otherwise well equipped with all the expected things such as a hairdryer, toaster, microwave. The addition of the washing machine addition and laundry baskets was excellent too as It meant we did not have to come home with a suitcase of dirty laundry!
The apartment :::
The actual apartment itself surpassed all expectations and looked so much more impressive than the pictures show. Patrick clearly takes great pride in his building and this is made very clear through the choice of decor and high quality furnishings throughout. Not only was there a TV in the living room, but also one in the bedroom and another in the kitchen! Luckily we had no need for them but they would be very useful if the weather was not as pleasant or you were unwell. The flat was also well equipped with wall fans and an air conditioning unit in the bedroom.
Personally, aspects of the flat which made it stand out for me were the free wifi (which was strong in most places) and the vast array of brochures and leaflets. Both these enabled us to be considerably more adventurous on our travels in Malta!
The roof terrace :::
Breathtaking. Although quite a climb from our first floor flat, this outside area was perfect. The 180° panoramic view of valletta water front was one of the highlights of my entire stay in Malta. Patrick was aware that it was to be shared between three flats and somehow managed to create three/four very different and separate seating areas in a relatively small space - brilliant if you want to enjoy the view without interrupting someone else's dinner! The roof terrace was set up with a dinner table and BBQ (you needed to buy the coal yourself) as well as coffee tables, sofas and sun loungers.
The location :::
The apartment couldn't have been much more central. We were a 5min walk from the main valletta bus station meaning we could quite easily get anywhere on the island. We also were minutes away from the main tourist information centre and we had the best bars and restaurants of valletta right on our doorstep. However it's worth mentioning that despite all this, it really didn't feel that touristy!
Considering it's central location I also really appreciated the lengths to which Patrick went to to ensure the apartment was safe and secure. We had two separate keys to two doors to get in to our flat, and all the outside and communal areas were covered by cctv.
Our departure :::
Patrick was amazing and even drove us to the airport at 6 am, meaning he was at the flat not long after 530am (he told us he frequently has much earlier departures!). He had no queries with returning us our €100 deposit and even gave us a departing gift.
Thank you so much Patrick for a hassle free holiday, and wonderful memories of our first time in Malta. It definitely ticked all the boxes of a five star apartment. We would be happy to stay in your apartment again again and will definitely be telling friends and family!
Take care and all the best,
Hannah and Felix
