Reviewed 22 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Stayed her with family. What a fantastic home will definitely come again. The home is located a lovely part of Rabat close to all amenities. If, you are wanting to stay somewhere different then, this is the place full of character and charm.

“Great Property in Fantastic location”
Reviewed 6 January 2016 for a stay in July 2015

I stayed in this property with my wife, 3 children and my mother in July 2015 and loved it. The house is exactly as you see on TripAdvisor and is full of Character. The kitchen has pretty much all you need and the window above the sink makes an ideal serving hatch to the small courtyard when eating. There is a barbecue in the courtyard and this is where we ate all week. We visited during something of heatwave but we had fans in most rooms in the property and were able to sleep at night. There is a delightful roof terrace to sunbath and the bedrooms were comfy and a good size. Reno the owner organised the car hire of a 7 seater people carrier, wifi and was very helpful throughout our stay in Casa Melita and also Ta' Zaren Farmhouse, a property he also owns on Gozo (see separate review). The real plus for this house is it's location in a quiet narrow road in the centre of Rabat. Shops are no more then a 2 minute walk away and the Sunday Market is fantastic value. Mdina the old walled capital is a 10 minute walk away and, in my opinion, is one a the worlds magic places. There are numerous restaurants and bars all in walking distance. On a personal note I have visited Malta on a couple of occasions in the late 1990's and early 2000's and found it a friendly place full of history with lots to see and do, but it always seemed to lack 'civic pride' with views from a cliff blighted by fly tipping or city walls surrounded by litter. I was so happy to see this had been dealt with, Valletta the capital has undergone a facelift in preparation for being 'City of Culture' and looks magnificent and Mdina has been cleaned up to the point where the old walls look like they have just been built. If you want to visit Malta but don't want of stay in a hotel in one of the tourist districts, I recommend this area and house.

“Lovely house and great location in Rabat”
Reviewed 4 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

This house is delightful and very centrally located in Rabat. It is situated just behind the Parish Church of St Paul. The kitchen is reasonably well appointed with a gas oven and hob and toaster. No electric kettle as you boil the kettle on the gas hob and no microwave. There is a toilet leading from the kitchen. Three nice size bedrooms upstairs, the double room is en-suite and the shower works a treat. There is a bath in the family bathroom but I did not use it as I was travelling alone. The beds were not overly comfortable but well within this price range. There is a delightful spiral staircase on the first floor leading to a roof top area. The view is well worth the climb. The only negatives I can think to mention are firstly the wifi connection tends to fall over quite a lot . There is a dongle which you have to move with you from room to room as the walls are very thick and will block the signal. Toilet paper and bin liner spares are not provided so once you have used what is left then you have to buy replacements. There is a small supermarket just around the corner and a much larger shop the other side of St Paul Square down towards the catacombs. So much history in Rabat and Mdina that I did not leave the vicinity all week. I would recommend a trip to St Agatha's Catacombs just beyond the more popular St Pauls Catacombs (walk down St Agatha's Street) as it has some wonderful frescoes and an early altar built into a wall. One restaurant I would recommend in Rabat is Bottegin Palazzo Xara found down Triq St Pawl. Good food at great value and a really pleasant garden to sit out if the weather is nice. Reno is a great host and nothing was too much trouble. He came out one evening to replace my internet dongle as I was having trouble and needed to contact my family. Lovely peaceful location and the house was delightful

“Perfect place for quiet vacation on Malta”

Very convenient and quiet location, in center of Rabat, few minutes walk from Mdina gate. Nice, rustic house, equipped with everything one needs for vacation. In winter time it is quite cold inside, but heaters are provided. A perfect place for good rest and visiting Malta.
