Seal Rocks Caravan Park, about four hours drive from Sydney, is located on a good beach with access to national Parks and a very interesting local township.

The park is very well kept and located, featuring places for tents and caravans as well as cabins for those who prefer them. Facilities are very carefully maintained and include facilities for the disabled.
Prices are very reasonable

Room Tip: A beachfront cabin is probably the best choice, especially for oldies.

Having regularly stayed at this caravan park, I feel that the quality of this park, and in particular, the behavior of the staff here has become particularly unwelcoming and unfriendly, even unnecessarily aggressive. They proudly state that you are only a stranger once and yet our experiences over the last few years have left us feeling colder and colder every time. To watch from my verandah as a man, covered in gaol tattoes, aggressively postured at nine to twelve year old children who were riding skateboards and, rather than speak to them and ask them to stop or to even mention it to their parents who were a short distance away, he instead took the skateboards off these children and told them that they couldn't get them back until the end of their stay. This was particularly harsh as he then proceeded, over the course of the evening, to ignore other children doing the same thing. Possibly he had an issue with a particular child/member of that group but his attitude and poor customer service was my first real wake up to changing attitudes on our most recent visit. And this, of course, was only the start of the issues with this 'staff' member. To say he was unnecessarily short, curt and aggressive to patrons of the park is an understatement. Added to this attitude, while renovations have certainly occurred, in other ways, the place is lacking in TLC. Some friends of ours verandah collapsed during their most recent stay, the main BBQ had been removed leaving only one BBQ for the entire camp ground. Further to this, as a parent I would hesitate to let my children out of my sight as there are large gaps in the fence on a steep hill that leads directly onto the main road, dangerous for children, to say the least. All up, this is a wonderful spot that has been left to seed for a little too long and if you are looking for positive, friendly staff I would perhaps look elsewhere. Such a shame as it really is one of the nicest spots in Australia.

Dear David,

It is unfortunate that each year your group cannot follow the park rules and we receive multiple complaints about your behaviour.

Each year we have tried to 'manage' your group however this year the impact on others was too much as a result you have been 'blacklisted' from our park and are not welcome to return.

We pride ourselves in customer service however we must enforce park rules to ensure guests safety, unfortunately your group have complete disregard for others.

We wish you all the best for the future.

Nice park close to beach. Was completely full on Saturday. Again a big thank you to the nightmanager who made it possible for us to stay aniway after the long trip!
Big and clean amenities. Small park, good for families.

My friends and I have been visiting the park for 15 years every December. Since new management took over a few years ago, we have noticed a huge decline in customer service. We are all professional people in our 40's. We were consistently harrassed by the manager over the long weekend for anything it seemed possible. First the teenagers in our group (13 years) were yelled at (not spoken to) to get off their skateboards when we first arrived (no skateboards being a new rule) and it escalated from there. Mind you there were at least 20 small children riding skateboards all weekend who were not asked to stop. We were yelled at to keep the noise down and turn the music off at 10.06pm (10pm being noise cut off time). We apologised and turned the music off instantly. We continued to sit and chat in our group, in front of our accommodation, with small children asleep inside, for another half an hour. This was not good enough for the manager who continued to walk past, yelling abuse, calling us drunks (none of us were drunk and he had alcohol on his breath) and telling us if we don't go inside our cabins we would be banned from returning. No one was able to have a conversation with the manager without him cutting us off and abusing us. We wont be returning, it's time to make new memories elsewhere.

It is unfortunate that you were unable to follow the park rules for the fifth year in a row since we have been managing the park.

The impact on other guests as result of your behaviour cannot be tolerated anymore, that is why we refused to allow you to book for next year and have blacklisted you from our park.

The 'manager' that you are referring to is the night security attendant, there were several guests in the park who witnessed your group's abusive behaviour towards him however he has decided not to press charges.

Anyone can see from our other reviews and award for excellence that we pride ourselves on customer service and providing our guests with a great experience.

We wish you luck for the future and hope that you can be more considerate to other guests and rules.

Seal Rocks is a great location to enjoy swimming, walking the beach and relaxing. The caravan park is outstanding - basically brand new with great sites and excellent facilities. Due to its location you will need to be largely self sufficient but it is around a 20 minute drive to for a night out. Definitely worth a visit.
