A great choice in Reykjavik

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 3 weeks ago
Our stay at the Fosshotel Reykjavik was everything I hoped it would be. We found the room very comfortable, with great blackout blinds and the ability to control the temperature to our own comfort. We ate breakfast here every morning, and lunch about three times, and the food in the self-serve buffet was fresh and tasty. The hotel is walkable to everywhere in the city centre. The high point was the service - front desk staff was EXTREMELY helpful in booking day trips for us, and one of the restaurant staffers ran out of the hotel to return a camera we'd left at the table! I was very satisfied with my stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

We had a lovely view of the city. It was mostly quiet. Bed quite hard -but a note said they’d bring a topper if requested. Worst was our curtains were broken making it difficult to close the room darkening curtains.

This hotel was an easy walk to the main downtown tourist area of Reykjavik and close to the local bus terminal which was important as I used frequently to get to the local office for work.

The hotel was clean and the rooms a good size, especially as my stay was for nearly 2 weeks. The room facilities were good and was really comfortable, with the "room service on request" policy a nice feature.

Staff were always polite and friendly.

Only used the restaurants on a couple of occassions and fodd food and service very good.

The selling point for me to select this hotel was the inhouse fitness centre, which was really good for a hotel.

Room tip: For travellers arriving in mid-summer, the currents are not completely block-out so rooms do not get completely dark in the midnight sun.

No room cleaning, need to request this. Hard bed and no toilet cleaning facilities. Parking lot in basement but prices are high for long term use

I’ve stayed at Fosshotel Reykjavík twice and hope to return again.

The location is great. It’s a 5-10 min walk to city center and very close to a big bus stop at Hlemmur. Convenient to use city busses to explore the city. Bus stop 12 is also right outside and very convenient for your pickup and drop off.

Clean, tidy and spacious rooms. The bed is hard but that’s what I prefer. They offer a mattress topper for anyone who likes a softer bed. Nice soaking tub along with a shower in the bathroom.

I had a fantastic view from the 11th floor of Harpa and the bay. Could also see Hallgrimskirkja from my room. Good food at the Biergarten and hotel buffet is extensive and upscale. Friendly and helpful staff.

10/10 stay and I hope to visit again.
