Great lunch spot, with fantastic bread! Service was very friendly and the food was fantastic. The presentation is pretty cool too. Free water and wifi. Just like many Icelandic restaurants, as a couple expect to spend $75-$100 USD.

***Let me preface the service across the board in Iceland. Don't expect non stop attentive service. Tips are not given in Iceland and the service depicts that. It is not a knock on the restaurant and the servers were extremely friendly, they just don't hover around your table like they may in the US. ***

Judging from the positive reviews on TripAdvisor the kitchen must unfortunately have had a very bad night yesterday. If you order a $60 beef tenderloin (and if you want fries to go with that, it’s another $10), you expect it to be good. In Apotek “medium rare” is interpreted as making the outside of the meat dry and over cooked and the center cold and raw. And the mediocre quality of the meat calls for sharp knives and even sharper teeth.
The duck and the rack of lamb are better choices but hardly worth their respective prices.
Over all: Ok service, nice atmosphere but lousy price/performance.

We had a small plate dinner, ordering shrimp and some vegetable sides, and there was plenty to eat! The carrots were the biggest I've ever seen and so tasty. Two of us couldn't finish the generous portion of potatoes.

Great food, great service, reasonable prices.

We had a late dinner reservation, and percieved the place as somewhat crowded and quite noisy.

The atmosphere and decoration were just too nice... if you feel adventurous, try the lamb tartar!!! The mushroom soup tasted not just another mushroom soup, it’s very unique (however a bit too salty for me). Fish was fresh and delicious. Don’t miss this restaurant!
