Description: Nordic cool at its best. For years, the renowned chef Sveinn Kjartansson has been showing viewers of Icelandic television how to make the most of the country's natural food sources, especially its impressive range of seafood. Now, visitors to AALTO Bistro in the Nordic House can sample for themselves the work of this creative chef, in the form of delicious and delightful fresh lunch specials and during the day. When it comes to afternoon coffee, linger awhile, over delicious homemade cakes, all made with the best ingredients available at the time, Over the weekends, a delicately constructed dinner menu. Naturally, the fruits of the sea feature prominently, although meat and vegan options are also on offer. In true New Nordic style, the food at AALTO Bistro draws on fresh, local, healthy produce, ingredients which change with the seasons. Head chef Sveinn stirs in a dash of his trademark magic to create the prettiest of plates. Healthy food for a happy heart!

I went for lunch there because of its review. Its a very small restaurant hidden outside the city and surounded by beautiful nature! The food was phenomenal and the service incredible. i went by myself. I am pesceterian and dont eat fish. I ordered the fish of the day and it was amazing! Its maybe off site but its totally worth it to go and the people are super polite! try it.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch two times here during our three day visit in Iceland. Vegan options everyday on their menu including the soup of the day. Also, this is the first restaurant in Iceland that I have visited to have great wine list with vegan wines available on that same list.

I highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We went out bicycling and this stop was perfect for some mid day calories.

Got coffee and French Chocolate cake, delicious. Prices good and service good. Nice environment with nice view towards ocean.

Highly reccomended!
