Fantastic hotel in a great location staff very helpful. Would recommend getting car hire as trips can be really expensive like everything else in Iceland. This hotel gives free hot drinks all day long which in it's self can save a lot of money and the free cake in the afternoon is a very nice touch. English tv free wifi all great

I stayed here from Boxing Day for 4 days. It's a good walk from centre of town but if you like to walk it's really not far, 20mins fast pace.I had emailed the hotel about booking trips and they said they would do it for us when we got there. In fact we had heavy snow and the trips did not run until the 3rd day. It worked out really well as we didn't pay for the trips until it was definitely running. There are always trips available, I think every visitor left Reykjavik on that 3rd day and was on a trip to see the sights and they still managed to get everyone on bus.
Hotel warm, lovely continental breakfast, free tea and coffee all day and home made cake every afternoon, helpful lovely staff. Rooms are basic but have everything you need. I would stay here again, really peaceful spot.
Reykjavik exclusion/buses run from the airport to every hotel just pay in the airport at their desk. Very slick operation, they take you to the bus station and then on to your hotel. Buy a return and get the hotel to ring the day before departure to arrange pick up.

Room Tip: Not a tip about the room but bring a travel mug as the coffee in the lounge is good and you could then take it to your room.

We booked a room for 3 people and we're very impressed with the price. The location was perfect, although not right in town it was a quick walk and all tours picked up from the hotel. We were surprised to find we had a living room area as well as the bedroom up the stairs and loved the communal breakfast and tea/coffee area. The free coffe/tea was great, as was the cake! Would highly recommend this hotel. The only issue we had was with the shower curtain, but this was very minor issue.

Great wee hotel if you're looking for a cheap stay in Reykjavik. Rooms were fine and staff were excellent. Breakfast every morning was excellent. Nightlife in Reykjavik is very good and the staff had no issues with us coming back to the hotel in the early hours of the morning. However, it is a 15min walk to the centre of Downtown Reykjavik. Overall, good stay at nice hotel - would book again.

I stayed in this hotel while visiting Reykjavik. I came to this hotel based on the relatively lower room rates and the good reviews I read about it, and I have to say that the reviews were honest - this is a not-so-big hotel, with a very warm feeling inside. The staff were very nice and helping. Every time we had a question or needed something, they gave a good help. They even offered help when we waited to our tour guide to come to the hotel, so they call the tour agency and asked about it for us. Every day they serve a basic, but good, breakfast that we enjoyed, and every afternoon and evening they serve hot drinks and a cake at the dinning room. This is a big plus, especially when you come back to the hotel after a long day. On my last day, because I left very early to the airport, before the breakfast, one of the staff members even suggested to make me a sandwich - which was great. I really liked the staff!
The rooms were basic - don't expect the Hilton. But everything we needed, we had. One thing that I missed is a water-cooker to make tea in the room. But it was okay, as we could get the tea from the dinning room and bring it to our room. The bathroom was clean and good.
The location of the hotel is also good - it is not in the center of the city, but in a walking distance from there (~10-15 min walking), so it is a quite neighborhood. It is also very close to several supermarkets and restaurants.
