Cozy and classy in the heart of Reykjavik

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 14 Apr 2024via mobile
I had an amazing experience at the Reykjavik Residence inn it was filled with all the comforts of home, including microwave toaster iron blow dryer etc. Toiletry products were premium quality. The bedding was very comfortable, with down comforters.
Each morning they supplied a Continental breakfast with boiled eggs decorated with the 😀 meat and cheese slices with bread, fruits, jams, and butter and vegetables and fresh bread was delivered every day at 8 AM to the door.
The areas were impeccably maintained The staff was helpful and kind.
There was ample parking on the street or nearby lots for minimal fee
It’s in close proximity the downtown area and also the coast
I would highly recommend !!

This hotel was very welcoming. We arrived very early to Reykjavik, and the hotel happily took our luggage until we could check in later in the afternoon. We also ate our breakfast in the lobby as we got our bearings. When we did get our room, it was perfect for us. We used the kitchen and really enjoyed the breakfast basket and fresh loaf of bread. Loved the hot chocolate and coffee in the room. Also enjoyed the wine cafe that was right outside our room. We spent two happy hours there and got a free drink for opting out of cleaning the room.

We just got back from a 5 night stay in the Printing Press Building. We arrived late in the evening to a very clean apartment with a modern, nordic vibe. The generous breakfast basket was awaiting us in the fridge, the kitchenette was well appointed and we were starving. So we dove into the basket, I made midnight pasta (teen parents travel with spaghetti, right?) and we immediately made ourselves at home. The family suite was perfect for the 4 of us, giving us all space to relax and rest comfortably. We awoke to a stunning harbor view, fresh bread (Sandholt Bakery) and a true appreciation for the wide array of hot beverages provided. Perfectly situated for exploring Reykjavik and as a base for excursions, there is easy access to highways and the area itself is super walkable. Hverfisgata has a handful of restaurants and a quick mart. Right around the corner is Laugavegur and access to tons of restaurants, shops, bars, live music and groceries. Walk down to the harbor and catch the sunset, don't miss Valdi's ice cream and take a pic on Rainbow Street at night! Oh, and if you hit a geothermal spa, don't forget to ask the wonderful guest services for extra towels before you go!

Stayed for 3 nights April 2024, building 45 across the road from the reception. Perfect location for everything you need in Reykjavik. Having never stayed in an apartment before (always use hotel chains) I was a bit apprehensive as to what it would be like but it far surpassed my expectations.

The accommodation was spotlessly clean and modern, very high end. We received a breakfast basket each afternoon (left in the fridge) which was well stocked and plentiful then fresh sourdough bread was left on the door handle early each morning.

The reception staff were unbelievably helpful and welcoming, couldn’t do enough for you. L’Occitane toiletries provided. The kitchen (didn’t cook in it) was extremely well equipped if you wanted to cook. Coffee machine, fruit juice, cereal, everything you need. Everything has been thought about, you will not regret staying here!

A little confusing to find but all and all a decent place. Rooms very small and if visiting in June when there are 23 hours of daylight bring something to cover your eyes while you sleep as they don't have room darkening shades. No parking near hotel so need to park and walk. Most restaurants, shopping, etc are conveniently located near here. All and all is wasn't bad but might try someplace different next time.

We stopped for 4 nights in April. Once we had found our room/apartment everything was excellent. The accommodation is spread over a number of buildings and determining where your building is was not as easy as expected.
However, once located the accommodation was spacious, spotlessly clean and very well appointed.
The whole apartment was well laid out and the kitchenette had everything needed should you wish to prepare your own food.
The housekeeping were discreet and efficient.
We were located by the wine bar and didn’t notice any noise at all over the weekend.
I would highly recommend the Reykjavík Residence.
