We just got back from a 5 night stay in the Printing Press Building. We arrived late in the evening to a very clean apartment with a modern, nordic vibe. The generous breakfast basket was awaiting us in the fridge, the kitchenette was well appointed and we were starving. So we dove into the basket, I made midnight pasta (teen parents travel with spaghetti, right?) and we immediately made ourselves at home. The family suite was perfect for the 4 of us, giving us all space to relax and rest comfortably. We awoke to a stunning harbor view, fresh bread (Sandholt Bakery) and a true appreciation for the wide array of hot beverages provided. Perfectly situated for exploring Reykjavik and as a base for excursions, there is easy access to highways and the area itself is super walkable. Hverfisgata has a handful of restaurants and a quick mart. Right around the corner is Laugavegur and access to tons of restaurants, shops, bars, live music and groceries. Walk down to the harbor and catch the sunset, don't miss Valdi's ice cream and take a pic on Rainbow Street at night! Oh, and if you hit a geothermal spa, don't forget to ask the wonderful guest services for extra towels before you go!
