Reykjavik Residence is definitely one of the best accommodation options in Reykjavik, in my opinion. Its located in the heart of the city, and hence proximity to delicious restaurants as well as local bus stops is a huge benefit.
Being an apartment hotel, guests generally don't expect much in service, but Reykjavik Residence manages to break this stigma. From delicious breakfasts, to prompt service and courteous staff, they left no stone unturned.

When it comes to in-room luxury, Reykjavik residence has done a good job there as well. Comfortable rooms, well-equipped kitchen and laundry service in the basement all serve to make the Reykjavik experience even better.

Definitely recommend a stay at this apartment-hotel!!

We stayed with this property at the beginning and end of our trip - really wonderful experience and in a great location for walking around and seeing the town. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There is a main office and the apartments we stayed in were a short walk (like a building or two) away. There was construction in front of our first place, but it never bothered us - also, it dosen't get dark in the summer and they provided eye masks and ear plugs plus there were shades to block out light. They have an option of having breakfast in sent in a basket - we did this for each of the mornings we were there since we had early tours booked. It included yogurt, fruit, cheese & meets, along with other items and fresh baked bread was dropped off at the front door in the morning. My kids loved this and it made breakfast really easy. We weren't sure what to expect of the hotel experience and of Iceland in general, but absolutely loved everything and can't wait to go back again! Another note, they have a bus system that works well - and bus stop #14 is the closest as # 6 & 7 are closed because of construction. It is just about a 3 block walk to/from the hotel and was easy to figure out. The airport is about an hour from downtown and the big buses go from the main (BSI) bus station, and then they use smaller van type buses within the city.

Room tip: Both rooms we stayed in had steep stairs & no elevators, the staff was helpful and offered to help with luggage

We were a family of three adults and one teenager and stayed four nights in the residence hotel, two bedrooms and two baths, all of which was just perfect for our needs. The suite was well appointed and immaculate, the bedrooms had blackout shades, and the beds were really comfy.

Breakfast was not included in our rate, but we never even tried the hotel restaurant because we'd ordered the hotel breakfast bread basket for two, which was HUGE, and lasted us for nearly the entire four nights with a little added fruit, and, believe me, you don't want to miss the hotel's wonderful sourdough bread (an entire loaf of it), especially for great toast! Nespresso coffee, some milk and juice came with the room, were plentiful and were all excellent.

The hotel was very well situated for all our needs, our rooms were very quiet, and a short walk to everything, along with an excellent and helpful staff.

We stayed at the Reykjavík Residence for two nights and it was the perfect spot with our teenage son. We had an apartment with two bedrooms, and used the breakfast basket to make sandwiches for our hikes. The bread the “elves” leave is the best sourdough we have ever tasted! The apartment was a really nice size for the three of us and all our gear. The location was so central and we walked everywhere. Great spot!

I really couldn’t fault this place. I booked 2 rooms of different standard (suite and studio) but they thoughtfully gave us 2 suites next to each other so we were close by. Rooms were really elegant and tastefully done with thoughtful touches. They very kindly stored 3 bags for us while we toured Iceland for a week. Location is as good as you can get.
