Maybe the name sounds touristy but once you enter you will recognize this is a local place where they have a passion to feed everybody! Both lamb and shellfish soups in bread bowl are delicious and heartwarming especially if you had a nice cold walk around❄️they also offer you refill for soup so have as much as you want!!! Do not miss to try the fisherman’s favorite which will become your favorite as well! And one more trick , if you want to have a beer with your soup/snack -they only serve soft drinks here- they ask you to pick your soup with you and go to the next door bar ‘Icelandic craft bar’ and have your beer from a nice selection and enjoy your food&drink there!

Laekjargata is the main shopping street in Reykjavik and located here is Icelandic Street Food. We stopped here for lunch after reading all of the fantastic Tripadvisor reviews and was not disappointed! GO TO THE COUNTER. Don't just step in by the door, go to the counter and order some soup. I got the seafood soup and was amazed at how good it was! Once I was finished, I was offered more! There was also a basket on the table with fresh coconut treats. Unlimited! Plus, there was quality street candy (my favorite) and brownies, also unlimited! We also tried the happy marriage cake and I have to say, it was delicious! My friend almost cried with happiness over the free refill she got of expresso, lol

The employees here were soooooooo nice!! I wanted to go back again before we left but we didnt get a chance.

Simple, but really good food and absolutely lot of it, since you can get a refill! We had shellfish and lamb soup, both in bread. Free small desserts are great idea. Would have loved to have pancakes as well, but just couldn't eat anything else. ;) Nice concept, nice staff, just keep going!

This place lived up to the reviews on TripAdvisor. My seafood soup in a breadbasket was lovely, and the free carrot cake and macaroon were delicious. Great value for money.

This place has the spirit of what I imagined Iceland was going to be. The staff is super friendly and the food is local and good. They told us it was granny’s recipe. We tried the lamb and the seafood fish in bread and it was delish.
The best part is you can ask for refill if you are still hungry when it’s over. The dessert is also free, you can it some pastries that you can find in the bar. It was totally worth it!
