Would use Rent in Reykjavik (booking agents) again as they were great, responding to issues immediately but we were unhappy the owner never acknowledged any of our e-mails or responded to them and we had to contact Rent in Reykjavik to get arrival details and a kettle (see below).
Utility sink in bathroom had not been cleaned, beds in kids bedroom had not been made up, main bedroom consisted of a bed and two stools; there were no bedside lamps, wardrobe or drawers to place clothes in the main bedroom. Bed was comfortable. The "fully equipped kitchen" was very basic and even lacked a kettle. Oven stank when turned on due to a filthy drip tray. Of course the owner was away so could not supply a kettle immediately but the wonderful agents supplied one the next morning. No TV but we were out all day so did not have time to sit and relax so not an issue. WiFi worked well.
With a little better fitting out, this would be a great apartment due to its position close to the harbour and the centre of Reykjavik.
I have said I would recommend the apartment to a a family with 2 kids but I would warn friends to take a kettle, not expect to eat in the apartment as kitchen is not fully fitted and tell them to ask Rent in Reykjavik to ensure that there are sufficient towels and sheets and the place is fully cleaned. Fold out bed in lounge cannot be used in the summer due to no blinds on the windows and the midnight sun.
Would definitely use Rent in Reykjavik again.
