We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is fun. Quirky. Clean. The Geiri Smart restaurant was great both for breakfast and dinner. Honestly I think it had one of the best breakfast offerings of any hotel I have ever stayed. Abel at the front desk was helpful both before and during our stay. Well situated in town for exploring and shopping.

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room. There can be street noise late into the night from the surrounding bars

The Canopy by Hilton is the perfect place to start exploring; especially if you are a loyal Hhonors club member who likes a bit more of a boutique feel than your average large Hilton. It has a cool vibe and the rooms are comfy (not big) with a very clean and well equipped bathroom. Try to get breakfast included. It's an extensive and delicious buffet, but extremely expensive if you don't have it included in your room rate. You can get a bus to the blue lagoon at the corner so no need to spend nearly $900 (yes, that's $900 Dollars!) on a one way ride to the Blue Lagoon. We had to cancel a taxi we booked after we did the math. The only negative part about our experience here was how angry the front desk woman was when I cancel the taxi. She was so angry she couldn't even hide it. It made me feel like she was getting a kick-back or something. FYI - none of the food or coffee available are complimentary in the front lobby. Also, we had lovely adjoining rooms with our kids. One with a Queen bed and the other 2 twins. It was perfect! Call and you can get 1/2 off on the second room if you are an Hhonors member and booking a second room for kids under 18.

Room Tip: Try and get a room that is away from the shopping street. There are a lot of bars and it can be loud.

This is a truly lovely boutique hotel. The nicest Hilton I have ever stayed in. Beautifully decorated rooms. Underfloor heating in the bathroom. Very comfortable bed.

Lovely breakfast restaurant, something for everyone. Coffee always available in reception.

The room was great, staff was extremely helpful. The BIG issue was the room was really warm and everyone had their windows open. This is the problem.....as the location is in the heart of the city, the noise level was what you would expect...noisy. Trying to sleep with the window open was not an option, but then it became unbearable to sleep in the heat. No one in our party of 7 slept well and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone that wanted to get a goods nights rest.

My partner and I stayed here for two nights during a week long trip to Iceland, and, in retrospect, would have liked to have stayed another night or two. They have an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff who bend over backwards to make you feel welcome. They have a huge breakfast buffet included in the room rate, an evening happy hour with discounted drinks (a key in a town with very high food and drink prices), and a complimentary cocktail/appetizer hour. The rooms are spacious compared to other Icelandic properties we stayed at, and they have a nice selection of toiletries. They are in a great location - convenient to the museums, shops, old harbor, restaurants, sites, etc.. We would definitely stay there again.
