“THE perfect house for a relaxing holiday with friends”
Reviewed 28 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Our recent holiday in this beautiful part of Spain was made exceptional by the high quality and charm of the house that we were fortunate enough to rent. The house exceeded all my expectations - spotlessly clean and tidy inside and out... the gardens, which are terraced down to the pool area, immaculately kept and in full bloom during our stay. The pool was delightful and during our week-long visit in 37 degrees of cloudless sunshine, lazy poolside days and 6:30pm cocktails became our daily ritual from the first. Aside from walks into the village for supplies and for dinner in the evenings, I did not leave the terraces!

The kitchen is better equipped than my own and we cooked lunch most days simply because it was so easy with everything one could need at hand. The beds, linens and furnishings are tastefully chosen and it felt like we were borrowing a tasteful friend's house rather than staying in a rented property.

The village is full of charm and character; there are hardly any tourists and thus no touristy places at all. The restaurants are simple and provide good quality local food with warm hospitality. The streets are clean, well lit and felt perfectly safe even very late at night and I would highly recommend a visit here for a truly relaxing home-away-from-home holiday with friends or adult family. A group of girls or guys looking for a rest from the rat-race should take this house in a heartbeat! I am so delighted we know about it and intend to book again at the earliest opportunity.

P.s No wi-fi at the house is a HUGE blessing as it means you check your mobile once/twice a day and have a PROPER holiday!! We were buying a house at the time of our rental and daily calls with our legals in London were no problem, great phone reception and 3G signal is there if you need connectivity.

Liked best: The house and pool
Liked least: Not a big deal at all, but the local cockerels are a very efficient wake up call!

“Great house in a great location”
Reviewed 27 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Well first off the pictures don't do this place justice!
I was actually worried that there wasn't going to be enough outside space - but you can easily fit 3 or 4 loungers around the pool and another 3 on the "garden terrace".
It's very spacious and clean inside too with 1 bed and bathroom (and very large lounge) on the lowest floor, toilet/kitchen/dinning room on the next and 4 beds with 1 bigger bathroom on the top floor.

I do have to echo other people's comments about the rural location - it is stunning - but you must bring ear plugs - the cockerels and dogs go at it all day and night (but then I think I would if I were in that heat all day too!).

Talking of which the pool is perfect for cooling down in the mid day sun.

There are a couple of shops in the town that seem to stock all you could need, but we did a big shop at Villamartin (about 25 mins drive away) and then topped up locally.

Everyone was very friendly, and there is a real community buzz to the town, with things going on in the main square every night (the house is far enough away not to be disturbed if you want an early night).

Local restaurants are good with a focus on red meat, and the hills do burn off some of your meal on the walk back.

If you want to explore then a car really is essential, but to be honest other than 1 day in Seville I spent all week round the pool.

“Comfortable spacious villa in spectacular surroundings”
Reviewed 17 March 2013 for a stay in September 2012

The villa is well-situated at the edge of a village with quite good if limited facilities (restaurants, supermarkets). The villa itself is very comfortable with good bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, lounge facilities. An upgrade of one of the bathrooms is planned. The views over the valley from the balconies are more attractive than the photographs suggest. The pool as another review remarked is attractive for dipping in, set in gardens with shade. The countryside around is spectacular although the walking is more limited that we expected (with passes needed for some walks in the summer months due we guess to fire risk). A lovely villa in a delightful area.
