Stayed for three nights in one of the lodges which were very warm clean and well presented large bedroom with a comfortable bed one each for our two couples with a central sitting kitchen area. Hot tub on the patio and breath taking views all room. Situated a few minutes walk from the main hotel it was ideal. The breakfast provided was first class everything you could want. Had two evening meals the lamb was wonderful, the waitress on the first night was very helpful and let us have what we wanted on the two course menu, on the second night not so helpful so didnt go a third. The quality of the food is first class. Overall a great place to stay but a bit far from very where, we however thought it was great and having spoken with the owner a very nice man it will only improve. Thanks

The room was excellent, it had two stories and was open and bright with a fantastic view over Hvalfjörður. One of the best hotel rooms I’ve stayed at. The service was good. The staff was willing to help with everything we needed and were polite and nice. They’re cocktail making skills could definitely have been better but they have a really nice craft beer selection in the bar. We had lunch which was ok at best (vegetarian option) and a dinner that was really not good, the lamb was dry and over cooked. Come here to sleep, go eat somewhere else

The room was nice, the hot tub was also nice--they had robes for us, but no slippers--that cold be better! The staff was good and the food was good! A bit expensive, but I felt I got something for the money!

Really enjoyed my stay here, came with my girlfriend. Unfortunately the weather was dire the whole weekend, artic storms meant the roads were closed all around, so didn't get to do any of the activities we had planned, but that is what you risk staying in a rural hotel.

But the staff were very friendly, and accommodating, despite being stuck all weekend. Would definately recomend staying here, but you do risk getting snowed in during the winter months for a day or 2.

Hot tubs were lovely, with a great view, maybe could offer flip flops to walk through the snow to them.

Food in the restaurant, although quite expensive, was to a great standard. Overall was a lovely comfortable stay.

We stayed for 2 nights and had a truly wonderful
experience. The Hotel is incredibly cozy and the staff helpful and
attentive. We really enjoyed the food (best seafood soup we had in
Iceland!) and the hot tub with the perfect view of Hvalfjordur. As we left the
chef drove after us to bring us my scarf that I had dropped in the
parking lot. I was incredibly touched by this and will always remember
this act of kindness! I am very happy to recommend the Glymur
Hotel to anyone who plans on coming to Iceland.

Room Tip: Get an ocean view room.
