Went in February on a short break to a place with a difference and yes it was! Great location to walk around the City, great location to take the ferry to Estonia for the day and a great location to stay!

Room Tip: Helsinki is good to walk but you can also take the half day sight seeing tour and then have more time to your own discovery.

4 star "jail" is quite expensive but hotels in general are expensive in Finland, therefore, the quality-price relation of this hotel is OK. Rooms are spacious, clean and modern. Equipment in bathrooms is poor (no shower caps and cotton pads) but, again, this problem is common for all hotels in Finland. Location of the hotel is good as well as breakfast and other services provided. I can recommend this hotels for all travellers.

Spent one night in this hotel.

Pros:
- breakfast was great
- the setting was exotic
- the room was clean
- there is a tram stop right in front of the hotel

Cons:
- the room was tiny

Overall, the hotel was very nice.

Excellent hotel and location. It is a real prison and inside it really looks like a prison. Very unique experience and atmosphere.
I tested almost all the 4star hotel in helsinki and this is one of the best.

All the rooms are really new in terms of style and furniture

Only reasons why I dont give 5 star is that the breakfast can be improved

This is a very interesting hotel! Converted from a prison, the jail theme is carried thru the public areas, but not too far, as my room was very large and comfortable-and had a heated floor in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet was large and very tasty and the same space served as a pretty good restaurant in the evening. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was just outside the busiest part of central Helsinki in a quiet, primarily residential area. The #4 tram stops just outside the hotel door, so you can be in the center of town in 5-10 minutes, or walk in about 15 minutes. There are other restaurants within walking distance and also a grocery store. I felt quite safe walking back to the hotel late in the evening. The hotel seemed to serve a mix of families and business conferences and it has a large enclosed yard for playing and sitting outside. The restaurant also has an outdoor terrace.
