We stayed here for two nights during a wedding. Location was not ideal, as the actual church and reception venue was situated a good 30 minutes drive from the hotel, and we arrived during the midsummers night w'end, meaning all or most shops were closed.

Hotel check inn was easy - Staff were polite and helpful with any questions we had regarding taxi info and even lent me some sticky tape that i needed for the wedding speech!
Hotel lobby was very posh even though the outside of the hotel doesn't look it. Nice seating areas around reception, lovely lighting at main staircase ( check hotel internet site for pictures), and in general a modern theme throughout.
The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the center of town and rail station.
I fell in love with the water front downtown. Plenty of places to eat and as far as i could see a couple of dance clubs for those who enjoy nightlife :)

Only a block away from the hotel you can find the home of retired tennis player and now fashion guru, Bjørn Borg. This is where he lived during his early years. Nothing huge, but a fun thing to have seen when in little Sõdertalje !

Room was like many others have commented, small and layout was not really great, however, we only stayed in our room (standard double bed room), at night time so we never got bored with the room, but i can see how size could be of a problem if you have a lot of luggage etc.
Bathroom was ok - nothing exciting. Room also had a decent Tv and coffee/tea making facility's.

Breakfast buffe' was overwhelming! So many different kinds of options! The scandinavians love their bread and are famous for making time to enjoy breakfast.
Wish i had gotten up earlier to really feast ! If you are from outside of Scandinavia, the buffe' is worth paying extra for if it's not included !

Although the hotel is not a 5 star place, i still felt this was a nice option considering that Sõdertalje is a small and laid back town and that we didn't really have an option as we were part of a large wedding group.

All in all, a nice place with friendly staff and a nice stop over spot, if you are on road trip or just want to travel around Sweden.

Safe travels!

Bar and reception 4*, rest is 3* at best. Bathroom not clean, beds soft an uncomfortable. It is quiet. Breakfast ok, decent. Overall, if it's the best in the area would stay again, but it's not somewhere I would choose for another reason. I didn't see the gym or spa, they do have one, I just didn't have time.

Having driven all over Södertälje trying to find the hotel using the appallingly bad directions listed on the hotel website, it was a surprise to find it buried away in a housing estate on top of a hill, although it is quite close to the town centre.

Very impressed by the stylish reception and bar area, which could belong to a 5-star hotel in a major international city. The hotel had also rigged up a big flatscreen TV to show the World Cup games. Less impressive was the parking, we were offered free parking in a dark and dingy garage which offered little security and lots of hiding places for thieves, so instead we had to pay to use the secure parking area. I don't have a problem with paying for hotel parking in cities, but there's no reason to charge for it when space is not at a premium, such as the suburbs of a small Swedish town.

Then came check-in ... boy oh boy did it take long. The woman on reception moved at the pace of an arthritic snail, I have never seen anybody work a reception desk so slowly, she even spoke in some kind of slow motion, I wondered for a while if this was a candid camera stunt, but no, she was for real.

Having been impressed by the reception and lobby area, we kind of expected rooms to match, but as we wandered the maze of corridors into what was obviously an older annex, the decor turned from 5-star hotel to Cell Block H. Seriously, this part of the hotel had all the charm and ambience of death row - gloomy, grim, dull. The room wasn't much better either. With a temperature of 30 degrees outside, air conditioning would have been nice - there wasn't any ! A cool drink would have helped - but there wasn't a minibar, or a fridge, or an ice machine - the only option was the 10 minute walk back to the bar, followed by a 20 minute wait for Speedy Gonzales on reception to serve you. The hotel had kindly left me a bottle of beer in the room, not too tempting when it was as warm as hot tea. The only form of air conditioning was the windows, which could barely be opened, and with the curtains open, there wasn't exactly a lot of privacy due to the hotel being overlooked by housing projects.

Breakfast was OK, although not a lot of effort to clear away dirty plates.

Overall very disappointed with this place, I could have put up with it if the prices were reasonable, which they certainly were not. The next time I need to stay in a hotel in this area I'll use one of the Ibis hotels closer to Stockholm, not exactly high class but certainly a lot cheaper.

I was visiting the Scandic Skogshold for a conference in town, as part of a group. It was OK - not great.

The rooms were clean and comfortable enough, and the staff was friendly. The included breakfast was generous. We ate in the hotel restaurant for dinner several times and the food and service were always good. Some people - the chef who worked with us on a group dinner and the front desk clerk the morning we checked out who offered a takeaway breakfast when we had to leave before 6 a.m. - were outstanding.

But we had a series of little problems that added up over a week long stay: no mention of the need for a code to enter the parking garage when we said we had a car to park, light bulbs burned out in some of the lamps and not replaced, missing hotel information and room service menus, not notified when packages arrived. Any of these on their own would barely be noticeable but they added up to irritation.

I would recommend this to a friend who was more concerned about value than service.

This was a nice hotel. But it is located up a steep hill, not so fun when walking back to the hotel after a visit downtown.
