Upon our arrival was a friendly welcome by Phil and Cyndi. The Barn was as discribed with lots of space for our two boys to roam about and then decide on which of the bedroom each to have! The kitchen / dinner was spacious and very well equipped plus a BBQ was ready in the mature private garden we used them all for meals with ease which was great with our young family. The garden was a great size and enclosed but with owners on hand if we required them, We took advantage of the sun beds while the boys played in the pool relaxing and having fun as the weather was wonderful. The location is lovely and quiet but just close enough to be able to find groceries, bakery, restaurants and snack-bar a short 10 min drive away. Further afield there are lots of local beautiful places or night markets to visit (up to 45 min drive) we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thank you so much we will return!
Stayed in August and was wowed!! The barn is beautiful and done to a high standard so many little details like wine for when you arrive ! Lovely fresh clean linen ! The barn feels modern but very homly and comfy .
The grounds are beautiful lots of flowers and lush green grass ! With a great pool to lounge around ! Only downside is we couldn't stay longer
The location itself is brilliant as it's a short cycle or drive to Jumilhac le Grand which has THE most beautiful chateau. The village has a fun bar, restaurants, well stocked shop, boulangerie and boucherie but the bigger supermarkets are only a short distance away. Well placed to get to many of the Dordogne "must sees". We hired the cottage and the barn together for 2 weeks April-May to celebrate my 40th with my family. It was precisely the right thing to do as it meant we all had enough space, 2 pools and plenty of rom for the 2 dogs to tear about the gardens. I will leave you to read up on what to do, where to go etc but I would recommend this not only to those who have a small or large family but also hire the two together for one big party! Phil and Cyndi are the perfect hosts in naking sure we were all comfortable, booking restaurants for us (which are all to die for and dont miss out on the lunch culture!!). Myself and my husband and the 2 dogs will be back without a doubt - possibly in warmer months and stay in the cottage as it has lovely cool rooms. Both felt like home from home and the whole family still say how fab it all was. My lateness in reviewing is because i thought I'd already done this 2 months ago!
We stayed at the Liberté Bosquet Gites this August for a week and can only say what a fantastic find it was!
Our hosts Phil and Cyndi were very welcoming and felt like old friends we hadn't seen in a while, we had wine, beers and biscuits waiting on our kitchen table which was very nice of them.
The Barn has been totally overhauled to a very high standard and although we didn't have any with us, pets are welcome too. The barn comes with it's own large garden and an above ground pool which is safe from dogs entering. It sleeps 6 people and has so much room.
There is a cottage which they offer too, we had a look around that and it too has been renovated to a high standard.
It's all situated on the historic Jumilhac-le-Grand and Phil and Cyndi can recommend many places to see and explore.
Would definitely be back, thanks for a wonderful holiday.
Something for everyone! From scenic villages, quaint towns, festivals, incredible food (it is France after all) all close by!
