Finally back in Stockholm... and ready to enjoy some good food and nice venues. When we checked at the hotel, my girlfriend kept saying 'I have been in this part of Stockholm before, there is a very good Italien restaurant somewhere close...'
So, we checked out things on Tripadvisor, and sure enough, she found it, only 5 min. from our hotel!
Off we went, to have a late dinner at Linguini. When we arrived, people were already waiting in line, for a table, the restaurant was full... on a Wednesday night!
The owner quickly came and told us '15-20 min'... which was more or less true, given it's an Italian place, 25 min. later we were seated, in a discrete corner.
The restaurant is located underground, decorated to look as if it has been carved out of the bedrock, kinds like the catacomb restaurants that you will find in Rome.
There is only room for some 30-35 people in total, small place... so, if you are busy ad need to get your seat at a specific time, you better book in advance.
When getting the menu, the name of the restaurant became clear: there are 8 different versions with linguini pasta, from a classic Vongole to a house special, aptly called Linguini Linguini. There is some other varieties of pasta dishes, and all the pasta are sectioned into vegetarian, fish and meat. There are no fish or meat dishes standalone, only with pasta. The starters range from mussels to a couple of varieties of the great Italian classic starter, Carpaccio, one with fresh tuna and one with beef.
They do have a todays special, an Italian dinner menu, and two different pasta course with either beef or fresh tuna.
We chose to share some bruschetta as a starter, my girlfriend went with the Linguini Linguini for main, and I chose the truffles tortellini with beef tenderloin.
We had food and wine on the table within 5-7 min. after being seated... all very nice, calmly and professionally, like only the Italian can do it. Very good service!
The bruschetta was great, as expected, and a few minutes after we got our main dishes. Both of these were absolutely fantastic!!! My truffles tortellini were outstanding, with just that little bite to it, and great truffles flavour. The tenderloin was perfectly cooked, so just a great dish. The Linguini Linguini turned out out to be with small, tender piece of pork tenderloin, in a tasty sauce of white wine, garlic, parsley and more. Excellent!
I had their Tiramisu for dessert, and that was equally great, while my girlfriend had a small, but very delicate chocolate truffle.
In all.... this is a GREAT restaurant!! You will get great food, the best service, a good choice of food, and all with a price tag that will have you lean back and just enjoy the evening.
The owner is all over the place all the time, but never seems stressed out, always smiling and having time to check in if your food is good.
Highly recommended, if you like great Italian food!!
