The hotel is located in central Stockholm, near all the major stores and restaurants. Upon entry to the lobby, you are presented with a lovely clean looking environment, mixing old and new in a classy way. There are many original features, such as the floor tiles and fittings, effectively put together with modern fixtures.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. I didn't have an iron in my room but one was delivered within a few minutes.

I met some colleagues in the hotel restaurant and had a lovely traditional Swedish dinner. The menu on a Sunday is very limited - only 6 dishes - however the quality was great. It's expensive for what it is but comparable with other hotel restaurants.

There's a few pros and cons about the rooms. The hotel seems to be disabled guest friendly - aside from elevators, the door entry is via key card that is waived over the sensor rather than being inserted into the door. The sensor located about 75cm off the ground, making it a good height for a wheelchair user.

The bedroom floor is hardwood, there is a very small raised lip separating the bathroom from the room, obviously to keep the water in. The bathroom has many safety features such as low level light switches and alarms, along with pull down bars either side of the toilet. The tap at the basin has a motion sensor, thus meaning no need to turn handles.

It is a little weird putitng the shower and toilet so close to each other, but I guess it means the rest of the room has more space.

The room itself had dark wooden modern units around the side - typically Scandinavian. It looks classy. There is a TV on the wall with some basic local channels and a few news channels - no premium movies or sports though.

One thing that bugged me was the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Reception was happy to supply a kettle for tea but coffee needs to be ordered from room service.

There is a minibar in the room, with typically inflated hotel minibar prices.

All in all, it's a great looking hotel with great staff. It's not cheap but it doesn't feel like it's overpriced.

I would put a coffee machine in the room though, along with an iron - as standard.

Here is the punchline: There is nothing we complain about and everything to praise.

The hotel is beautiful with a great design (it is a part of Design Hotels).
The rooms are on the smaller side but we did not find them uncomfortably small, they were just right.
The bed is very comfortable, and the bathrooms are also designed functional and beautiful.
The breakfast is great!!! The only problem is that it is so good that it is impossible not to overeat!
The location is excellent - both convenient and nice.
(I am not even writing about simple things like cleanliness or helpful staff - those are a given.)

We are picky and judgmental travellers. We have stayed in several Design Hotels and Relais & Châteaux hotels before. This one ranks very high among our list. :)
We have nothing negative to say about this hotel. It's your loss if you don't go with it.

It makes us extremly happy to read that Miss Clara is ranked highly among other Design Hotels you've visited.

Also pleased to read your amazing comments about our popular breakfast buffet. Hope you had the chance to try our homemade waffles with our homemade jams, they are to die for. :)

If retail therapy is your thing - given that you can get one of those ubiquitous red tour buses to get a sense of the sights - then this is an excellent location. It's probably no more that 15/20 minutes from the 'must do' streets (Biblioteksgatan), stores (NK) and the very well designed 'intimate' galleria like MOOD.

The hotel is described as 'boutique' but don't expect an hotel de vin experience. The room we had matched the website picture and essentially was an exercise in how to get a bed and bathroom into quite a small pre-defined space - the girls's school heritage. So, modern, functional and what it said on the tin!

All the staff had a pleasant and engaging manner - very fluent in English and able to explain at the bar why they didn't have dry ginger for the scotch or lemonade - might be an export opportunity?

I'm not sure if it's an age related thing but we do like tea and coffee facilities in the room. it was sorted by a very helpful receptionist but...

Room tip: Probably worth exploring the more expensive options if you want more than a bed and a bathroom

love every bit of the hotel. Walking distance to the central station and city centre. The design and rooms of the hotel is really cool, very scandinavian yet modern. Food is great, staff is amazingly friendly and cool.
