The Hotel was in a great location. The room was a good size and quiet with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was fresh and tasty, though the seating space was limited. The staff was very friendly. We had no complaints.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful stay in the Esplanade Hotel September 2016.The hotel is well located right on the harbour and within easy reach of most of Stockholme"s attractions. It has an old world charm with great breakfasts a good residents lounge that looks over the harbour and very helpful staff who even posted my left behind shirts to Australia. How is that for service.

Room tip: Rooms on level one are fine

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The first night the room was not good however. We were in a very small room on a low floor and were kept awake most of the night due to the street noise. We complained the following morning and they moved us to a much bigger room at the back of the hotel away from the main street which was much better.
The staff were always friendly, the breakfast was fantastic with a very good range of options and the hotel was in a great central location.
They had a nice communal area upstairs where we would relax with a gin and tonic each afternoon (we brought our own Gin duty free with us as we knew alcohol was expensive in Sweden). The reception staff were always helpful in getting ice for us to enjoy.
Feedback for improvement is that the WiFi doesn't work well in the rooms. You need to go to the common area or reception to get it to work which is annoying.

Hotel Esplanade has an old victorian look about it. Internally the hallway is long and historically red. Lovely leather furniture in the reading room with a cute little balcony. The lady was warm and welcoming at check-in. The morning breakfast is a must. A great variety of home made food that is filling and will get you through a busy touristy day. If you fly in to Stockholm then the Arlanda Express train will get you in to Stockholm central Station very quickly. The hotel is then only three bus stops away (number 69) and then you are in an idillic waterfront location. You can walk to anywhere in the city including the Old Town. My wife and I had a moderate room and this was fine as we are basically shorter in stature and we were there to sleep only. However if you are larger then you may need to reconsider getting a bigger room. We were fine with what we had. Location and service was terrific. It is seriously worthwhile considering. We liked it.

This hotel is in a great location and overlooks the water. Reasonably easy to get to from airport - took Arlanda Express train into Stockholm and then just one stop on the metro - short walk from there. Staff are very friendly and we received a warm welcome. They all spoke excellent English. My room was on the first floor and was cosy but the furnishings were a little tired looking. They was a walk in shower in the bathroom. The room overlooked a back street and there was some noise from dustcarts and delivery lorries. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The hotel has some lovely communal areas. On the ground floor there is a seating area and you can help yourself to coffee and cookies. There is also a computer for guests to use. On the first floor is another lounge area which has a balcony. There are lovely views across the water. The breakfast was good and there was a wide selection to choice from including hot food. Good location for getting tram to Djurgarden.
