We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend in September. It was a much needed relaxing break in a truly beautiful location. The small island of Skeppsholmen is really peaceful, yet it's easy to reach the picturesque old town, and the neighbouring island with the fun fair and museums is not even a five minute boat ride away.
The hotel was gorgeous, and all of the staff were helpful and friendly. It was literally a joy to wake up there in the mornings, open the shutters and see the beautiful view. The free bike hire was a fun way to explore the island and beyond. Breakfast was also probably the best I have ever had at any hotel (esepcially included in the price), there is an extensive selection of quality produce and it sets the day off well. I cannot make any criticism whatsoever of the hotel or the staff, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat, I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Art first glance this hotel might seem a bit out of the way... but it's actually right in the middle of Stockholm. If you like museums, this is the hotel for you - it's next to three major museums [Modern Art/Architecture, Oriental Art and the National Museum]. It's facing the water, and the island is surrounded by boats if you like that sort of thing. A great place to stay in a fabulous location.

My husband and I had a fabulous 2-night stay here earlier in the summer. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Stockholm. If I ever return to Stockhom, I'll look forward to saying here again!

The location is beautiful. Located on a small island with ocean views from some of the rooms as well as from the terrace where breakfast is served each morning. Inside, the rooms are typically scandinavian in style -- simple and minimalist, but comfortable. The shower was very good, but did tend to leave much of the bathroom damp since the doors didn't contain the water as well as the might have.

My main complaint was how expensive the hotel restaurant was. One evening we thought we'd sit out on the terrace and enjoy a dessert and/or a glass of wine, but after seeing the prices, we changed our minds and just stuck with the breakfast in the morning (which was delicious).

Lastly, the service was excellent. We arrived on an early morning ryanair flight and were allowed to check in early which was very much appreciated. The guy at the front desk gave us recommendations for areas to explore for restaurants and seemed happy to assist with anything else we might need.

All in all, it was a very relaxing stay.

Stayed here for two nights - this place is a gem. We had a large seaview room with a supremely comfortable bed. The room had tons of large windows - one morning I told my husband it was like waking up in a picture from a magazine. This hotel is absolutely beautiful. It feels more like staying at a (wealthy) friend's country house than a hotel, really. The breakfast buffet was expansive and all the food was delicious. The island is a quiet respite after a day in the city center or at Grona Lund amusement park, right across the water. The front desk staff are extremely friendly and helpful. This hotel has free WiFi which worked perfectly for us and was a great perk.

We were staying in Stockhom with a friend who developed severe flu so decided to check into a hotel, with limited internet and time we took the one with that could offer us 2 nights in a row instead of changing hotels.

Hotel Skeppsholmen offered internet and breakfast, which was enough for us. We didn't really know what to expect as read no reviews or saw any photos. Well we were very pleased that we chose it.
The hotel is on a very quiet island, really close to the water and a bridge to an even smaller island.
The rooms were fantasitc and so well designed (of course it is Sweden). It was exactly what we needed after travelling from Jönköping with a hangover (friends wedding) a nice quiet room with huge beds and facilities.

The breakfast was superb, there was so much choice and every type of tea you could require to kick start your day. After breakfast we used the complimentary bikes to discover the island.
The staff were so friendly and our room tided and products replenished. They are also an enviromentally friendly hotel too, which made me very happy.

It is only a 10 minute walk into the centre, a very scenic 10 mintues and there is a good bus service that links Stockholm so you can get the bus to very near the bridge for Skeppsholmen.

I would return to this hotel in a flash and have already told friends about it. I used to work as an event manager so have stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world, but this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in.
