Lund is one of those university towns that is most affected by food trends. Now when sushi and thai are "in", the town is flooded with those. That is why it is refreshing with a place like Fengssons which do something different.
Dumpling and Dim Sum have long been popular in cities with a large Chinese immigrant influence (New York, San Francisco etc.). So it is nothing "new", but it is new for Lund and familiar to those who have traveled abroad.
Fengssons serves a variety of dumplings, both meat and vegetable filled. They offer two portion sizes, 10 or 15 dumplings. A side dish of rice, noodles, or rice noodles is included as well as a cup of soup. Ordered pork dumplings and noodles. The dumplings are tasty and served with a choice of sauces with varying degree of spiciness. The noodles were also good, and come with an option of cilantro and peanuts mixed in. The soup was just OK, mostly a spicy broth.
Seating is limited, especially indoors, but a good option is to get your food to go and find a nice bench in a park nearby to eat.
In all, 10 dumplings and all you get with it is plenty for a lunch. You get good value for your money. I am looking forward to going again soon!
