This is an absolute institution in the hotel world of northern Sweden and the interior is absolutely fabolous BUT I must have been placed in the smallest coldest room at the hotel hence the three. Breakfast bar and areas for socializing very good.

Stayed: March 2018, travelled on business

A very nicely renovated classical hotel from the turn of the last century. Beautiful staircase and breakfast lounge.
Rooms fresh and modern although some oldfashioned features left, like roof stuckatures.

Stayed: March 2018, travelled with friends

Lovely hotel with clean and cozy rooms, always helpful and service minded staff! A breakfast to die for! You can sit in their lovely lounge and relax with a glas of wine or a cup of coffee ☺️ Close to shopping and restaurants in the heart of the city!

The hotel is probably the most beautiful one in Sundsvall - it was built in 1891 and is famed for its beautiful marble staircases and mirror hall. The breakfast ia also very rich as almost everywhere in the Nordic countries. It is also very centrally located - right a the main shopping street and ca 7 minutes walk from the railway station. BUT the rooms are surprisingly small in comparison the price - we were two persons in a double superior (!) room and there was almost impossible to move around. Something was wrong with the conditioner - room was either very cold or warm and we had a very bad night sleep due to the lack of oxygen. The staff was not very friendly - there was a very big snow storm during our stay and all flights and trains to Stockholm were cancelled but reception was not very helpful when we asked some additional information about the bus traffic.
