“Good Location with a 'Belle Vue'”
Reviewed 3 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

This wine growers house is in a beautiful area of France and the area has many hectares of vineyards. It is on 3 floors with a cave underneath housing the Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer. The views from the terrace and lounge window are beautiful and the whole area is very peaceful.
Beware, there are a lot of steps in this property some of them rather steep so expect to be up and down a lot. There are a number of steps from the road up to the terrace, there is a step from the kitchen to the toilet and Bedroom, there are about 12-15 narrow stairs to the Lounge and Shower Room and another 12-15 stairs up a 'space saver' type staircase to the Attic Bedroom. The House itself is set up above the town and you need to either walk down a hill or down some steps across the road to access the few town amenities.
The facilities although all there are a little dated and some refurbishment would not go amiss, particularly in the kitchen. There is a TV and there is IT access, however, we had a few problems with this which although owner tried to help with we couldn't actually resolve - it didn't affect our holiday that much...who needs the TV anyway when you're on holiday?!
The terrace is shaded with a bamboo canopy - without this it would be far too hot, but it made very pleasant sitting out for meals.
The garden is actually rather small as it is very narrow and at the base of the steps up to the terrace. There is a table and chairs for 2 and a BBQ, we didn't use it but a useful addition.
There was a cot in the main bedroom - I'm not sure I would feel happy about bringing a baby/small child to this location as the stairs are very narrow and I did not see a stair gate - there may be if requested though and the garden is definitely not suitable for young children.
The location is quiet and out of the town - ideal for a real getaway break, it is easy to drive to a number of locations in the surrounding area.
The Boulongerie is situated below the property and down the stone stairs across the road - it did excellent croissants, pain au raisin etc and really lovely baguettes - we visited it most days!! There is also a small bar selling drinks and some meals and a Petrol Station/Supermarket just up the road selling all your daily needs. There are a couple of Caves in the town selling wine. There are a couple of tennis courts and a Pool (not open when we were there), there are also a number of decent bikes and helmets for those that would like to use them that are located in the Cave under the house.

What a fantastic find. Okay, for the first two nights there was a party going on in the village (4:30am finish both nights) and not a lot of sleep was had by anyone. But for anyone look for luxury accommodation this is not the place; but if you're look for authentic Corbieres, this is the place. The views are amazing and the village has all you could need. The sunset is to die for, look out for the sunset!!!!

Thankyou for your review , so glad you enjoyed your holiday in Durban, the village is truly authentic and whilst a it does become more active than normal during July and August , it tends to falls back on to its normal sleepy characteristics rather quickly outside the summer peak.

“Peaceful break with friends”

Have just returned from this property; our first visit; having accompanied friends who have visited previously and who wanted us to experience the peace and tranquillity the cottage affords.
We were not disappointed; situated in the small village of Durban Corbieres; with magnificent views in three directions; we have enjoyed a truly restful break here.
The cottage has all the facilities and equipment that you could possibly need and the large sized rooms easily accommodate four adults.
The favourite place of all was the outside terrace where we all enjoyed wine in the evenings whilst watching the sun set behind the mountains.
Locally; it is a short stroll to the supermarket; bakery and pharmacy and is a short drive to the beach and many excellent restaurants.
The area is ideal for cycling and walking too.
If you want to chill come here.

“Belle view lives up to its name - a window onto the wonderful corbiere countryside”

This rental has everything to make your stay here complete. Perfect village community, overlooking the square, minutes away from a bar or boulangerie, 25 minutes to the coast, 5 minutes to the swimming pool and tennis courts or play boule with the locals. Small supermarket, petrol station and cash point in village,
Stairs are steepish but as i had the downstairs bedroom and never used the well equpped lounge i only had to use the stairs for a shower, lovely terrace. Dont want to come home

“Wonderful les Corbieres”

I came to the Corbieres with my wife for a week's R & R. The house was a typical rustic french home, with all the mod cons. Durban-Corbieres is a quaint village with plenty around within 15 minutes drive. Vineyards a plenty, so lots of cycling and walking routes. The local village has everything you need, the weather is very sunny. Beaches were a picturesque drive away and we even made a day trip to the Costa Brava in Spain.

We had a really brilliant time here. The place was clean and quiet. It catered for everything we needed including a local 3 Michelin starred restaurant.
