There is a lot of great food to be had in the vicinity of Sakskøbing. The yellow "Hotel Saxkjøbing" started the foodie trend in the area but these days it does tend to mainly serve food from the owner's brand and school of recipes "Meyer". This time we wanted to try something different.
"Madhuset" (The Food House) is based on local produce. It opened May 2015 and we stumbled upon it as we looked for lunch. Service and servings aren't as slick but the taste and passion are all in. Seating is at communal tables like in Le Pain Quotidien. You're able to see them create your sandwiches. I'm sure we going to drop by next time as well to see what's on the menu. Recommended for lunch and coffee - and for buying those special food gifts for the people at home.
