Though much admired and awarded, Hotel Villa Provence still makes the guests feel they have found a secret, exclusive. The intimacy of the building, rooms and courtyard and the warm, relaxed welcome makes you feel not as a customer, but as a guest in an old friend’s home.

As recommended by Rick Steves, this is a small, charming French-inspired hotel with only about 40 rooms centered around a cozy courtyard. There is a noisy pub across the street, so if you are offered a room that opens on to the street, ask for another one that opens onto the courtyard. Our room was spacious and included everything we needed. The breakfast offered a nice choice of fruit, fried egg on crispy bacon, various breads and cheeses and meats... the typical European breakfast offerings. The staff was very helpful in every way. The location was perfect near the library and within walking distance to the Latin Quarter, ARoS art museum, train station, and other places of interest. We were reluctant to leave after 3 nights, as we felt at home right away.

Booked a double room at a price higher than other 4 star hotels in the city. We got a tiny room and the bed was not even queens size. This is below normal reasonable standard. The room and the pillows had a strange mouldy Smell. We gave up to be in the room and had to paid extra USD 70 per night to move to normal size hotel room. Also here some pillows had to be replaced due to bad smell. There was a outdoor seating area. We brought breakfast outside Price/quality ratio for this hotel is unattractive. Will go for a better hotel next time.

What a treat. this small exclusive 'french style' hotel in the city of Århus is very charming nice and big rooms, and with an exceptional breakfast. As well parking in the backyard. and walking distance to all major cities in the city. We will come back.

Room Tip: room 11 was great

Very lovely hotel, with familiar, yet professional services. Nice, spacious (superior) room, though relatively warm due to the exceptionally hot summer '18.
Extensive breakfast offering, w/ all the usual courses (variety of bread, sausages, cheeses, yougurt, fresh fruits & orange juice) and a dedicated serving of fried egg & proscuitto. Positively surprised to be served breakfast at our table!
Charming, cosy backyard, suitable for extended morning coffee, as well as an afternoon pre-dinner drink.
Attentive staff, stated to be available 24/7 (we did not test this to the exterme....).
Not the cheapest hotel in town, by far, but still VERY good value for our money.
Private parking available (extra charge, but less money compared to street parking). The hotel's power outlets in the parking area was sadly not suitable for charging our electric vehicle, but this was remedied @ the DOKK1, a 3 min walk from the hotel.
