Greece is great value at the moment and this hotel is a perfect example. A very spacious double room cost less than €50 per night. An equivalent room in Dublin would easily fetch €200. Patras is a working city and might not be what travelers to Greece are looking for but the city has a gritty charm and nice quaint one-route railway line which goes to some of the city beaches. At the other end of the line is Saint Andrews Church which is a magnificent building and claims to be the biggest Orthodox church in the Balkans.
The Patras Palace Hotel is practically next door to the national bus station and a short taxi ride to the main ferry port. It's front facing rooms have a panoramic view of the harbour area and one can breakfast or have a nightcap on a beautiful verandah overlooking the ocean.More
