Staying in Elani I wanted to eat meat on charcoal (barbecue). In older times there was very good food in Kassandrino, but since years I had been twice disappointed there, so I was searching for something good, as you can 't find such in Siviri, Fourka, Kallithea or Afytos. So I thought of Kassandria (and not Kassandra, as the Tripadvisor writes). I asked for taverns there and the kiosk in the square told me about "Thomas", whici is the only tavern there!!! We went on the night of August 15th and a large company of people had reserved the half of the restaurant, celebrating the name day of someone. The shop was full and we got the last table remained. There were no pork chops (pantseta) left, they had steaks, but we prefered a "tigania" (fried pork) and a kilo of lamb chops (28 Euros per kilo). They told us, that the lamb chops will come a bit later, because of the big table, who ordered before us. The food was very good, the starters (tzatziki, "tyrokafteri") were nice, they offered us a roast potato with cheese, the fried potatoes were fresh cut by the hand, the meat plates were tasty. The portions were good. In the end they offered us watermelon. We were pleased eaitng there, they were very polite and the prices were reasoanble. Keep in mind, that the meat is local. I surely suggest it, if you are around.
