There are many tour boats from Lefkada, and perhaps other islands nearby, that go to Papanicolis cave. The scenery is beautiful both on the way there and in the cave. The spot is historic and make sure you don΄t miss to hear all about it. I would recommend taking the Odysseia tour from Nydri, Lefkada.

On a Five Island Cruise which took us to the island of Meganisi to look at Papanikolis Cave. The boat that we were on was small enough to go into the cave. The water is crystal clear and was interesting going into the cave. Shame we weren’t allowed to have a swim in the sea.

part of the cruise Seven Islands Cruises, looking for the burrow of the submarine
the ability of the captain to enter a little bit inside the cave brings a little bit of adrenaline
my expectations were higher than what i got

A cave on the island of Meganissi whose historical significance (associated with a Greek submarine that hid there during WWII) is disputed, but the trip to it is worthwhile - offered by medium-sized cruise ships from Lefkada and some neighboring islands.

This was included as part of the cruise we took on the Makedonian Palace Cruise Ship. It’s worth a visit

It’s a nice cave and easily accessible, which means it get crowded. Get the photo and get out back to a nice bay for a swim.

there are always boats going into this cave and some big boats. But you do need a boat to get to it.
Not much else to say about it

Went on a day trip from Nidri. Had a lovely swim in the ocean and diving off of the ship we were on. Seems to get very busy though as it's a very popular tourist destination for the local day cruise companies.

Great stories about the WWII submarine that hid in this cave. You can just imagine how it crept up into the cave to avoid discovery. Highly recommend you see it!

We saw this place sitting in a kayak, and it is truly amazing to be able to paddle all the way in to the hidden parts, where only a kayak can go (if you duck down low enough).
