I always try to spend holidays in appartments or houses to enjoy a little splendid isolation from the noise and society. Also these places give a chance to get a grip on the local atmosphere.
The trip to Corfu was a last minute decision and I desparately tried to chose from the available offers when I bumped into this wonderful estate.
This is basically a converted oil press building attached to an old villa built by a French officer in the Napoleonic Wars era. Both the villa and this building seem to be left here from the past but the conversion gives all the necessary comfort of our time.
The village is beautiful, the surrounding mountains are impressive, the view of the island, the sea and the Albanian rocky coast line is unforgattable. One is can enjoy the huge garden and the always cool entrieur of the appartment which is very welcomed in hot summer days.
I am very grateful having been able to spend a week here. This was a luxurious holiday in a traditional Corfian villa and I can recommend it.
Many thanks to Betty who not just looked after the garden professionally and tidied up everything kindly and nicely but was also a wonderful help, a professional source of information about almost everything on the island and a good friend too.
