“Relaxing, well-equiped traditional hideaway.”
Reviewed 13 July 2013 for a stay in May 2013

My wife and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon for 7 days in May. We found Sarah to be a great host as she met us at the airport and took us straight to the property. She organised a car for us and also ran through local and island attractions.

We had a great time here and here with the following being some of our highlights;
1. beautiful bbq courtyard area parfect for a lovely evening meal.
2. kitchen spacious, with a big fridge, good washing machine and fully stocked with everything you would need.
3. we were left some welcome gifts which were lovely and put us in a great mood.
4. interesting but very comfortable bath and the whole place clean and tidy.
5. comfy sofas for watching a massive range of dvd's (supplied) in case its raining one day.

a few points to mention though;

1. there is only one restaurant in walking distance. This restaurant however is AMAZING, but we ate there twice and would have been nice for another option without driving. (not really a big deal).
2. We feel the the standard of the property is very high but the beds let it down. we found them a bit too hard or short (normal double bed size). We tried sleeping in all three. I think the master would become next level if there was a queen size bed in there. Again this is personal preference and im sure many people would be perfectly happy with the beds. this was literally the only drawback.

The final point is you definitely need a car. It does say that, and it was easy to get around. We like having a car so we could come and go as we please and dont be worried about driving around the island. just take your time and you'll be fine.

oh also there was a picture on the website from the swimming pool of the sun appearing to set , this is rising not setting. so you get a beautiful sun rise, but not a sun set as that is over the otherside of the hill.

The property is really central if you have a car and so like i say easy to get around. Traditional and lovely and the owners are helpful, efficient and made our stay great.

Thanks

“A delightfull, contempory santorini village house!!”

My girlfriend and i stayed at this cavern house in exo-gonia, we had a great time, the property is a traditional cave type house built into the hillside, lovely decor and well presented in every way! It is recommended to have a hire car and we would definately say the same as the bus service, though only a 100m to the bus stop, it can be too hot to wait around for it to turn up! Plenty of reasonable car rentals on the island anyway! A must visit is the restaurant just below the house, Metaxima i think it's called! The hosts, Eddy (a Robbie Savage lookalike) and his wife, Sarah, were so helpfull, they made us feel so much at home!! We are sure you wiould enjoy a stay in this lovely house on this spectacular island!!!!

“Superb !!!!”

Wow what a fantastic holiday. After being greeted by Eddie and Sarah ( the owners )at the airport we were transferred to Cave house Anthea . A fantastic welcome pack awaited us with all the essentials ( bread ,milk, cheese ,ham etc...) . The accommodation blew us away and was very well thought out with everything we could need . The views which greeted us from the terrace will take your breath away and many an afternoon was spent with a glass of wine relaxing on the terrace and in the plunge pool. The owners were very knowledgeable about the island advising us on the fantastic restaurants , beaches and things to do .
We would defiantly book again and we are already planning a return trip to Cave House Anthea.

“Very relaxing stay”
Reviewed 21 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Santorini is not big so meeting Sarah at the airport was no problem and we had an easy going time right from the start. Car hire fixed up and altered for us all no hassle. The house is cool (literally and metaphorically) and it was great to get the fridge with all we needed in it for the first day. We arrived on a Sunday. We've had lots of holidays and this one was one of the most relaxing as it is so quiet in the two back bedrooms. We slept so well. Oia on the north tip was lovely. We went up to the Taverna Kastelli with our 17 and 15 year old past the church on top of the hill in Pyrgos for a great meal one night and also rated the restaurant nearest the house too. Great ceramics/pottery on the road from Emporio before the right hand bend to Megalohori. Also brilliant BIG bakery there on the main road. Do visit Megalohori. It may not be on the coast but it has a great mini town square with lovely places to eat. Our children used with the wifi a fair bit and we read books, but we loved it. Most nights after a meal out we watched one of the many DVDs from the BRILLIANT collection. Thanks. The pool is so relaxing and from 2pm you can sit with your back against the wall with your feet in the water slightly out of the sun. you can see the odd plane taking off and landing down at sea level away from the house in case you wondered, but there is NO disturbance from it AT ALL. Everything is so calm there. Thanks Sarah for a laid back time and for letting your house.

Eddy and Sarah were GREAT! They arranged our rental car, picked us up from the airport, helped with our luggage, answered my many questions, gave great recommendations for food, gave a quick tour of the town and took us back to the airport! There was food in the fridge for a snack, fresh fruit and bread which we appreciated!!! They are both friendly, outgoing wonderful people. We would certainly stay there again!!! Thank you Sarah and Eddy!!!!!!!
