We stayed at the ideon hotel for two weeks, left yesterday. We went as guests from Thomas Cook and left as friends, vowing to return in the future.
From the minute we arrived the staff were so helpful and friendly, couldn't do enough for you.The staff make this hotel, going above and beyond, everybody is involved,so friendly, happy and the atmosphere is really nice.
We were shown to our room by the night porter and because we missed the evening meal we were given a voucher which we could redeem any lunchtime.
The room was a standard room which overlooked the pool and old town and got the sun all day.
Housekeeping was impeccable, beds changed every day, towels every other day,the entire hotel was spotless, the staff worked so hard, but we're always happy.
The pool area was nice, although the pool itself was cold.It was very easy to get a bed,no towels reserving beds.
We stayed Half board, the quality of the food was excellent, lots of choices and not very repetitive. The chef is fairly new and his standards and presentation was very high. The restaurant staff managed by the excellent Sophie, were kind, jokey, happy and always spent time talking to the guests.Bottles of wine were 9 euros,a reasonable quality, more expensive were available and could be stored in the fridge in the room.It is hard to pick out anybody as all were equally hardworking and smiley.Lunchtime meals were freshly cooked and were of an excellent quality.
The barstaff were equally as good, polite, attentive and hardworking, prices were very good,on par with the bars.Cocktails during happy hour were about 5 euros,5-6 pm, otherwise the same as in town 7 euro. The lounge area was very comfortable and was well used.
The location is superb, two minutes walk to the old Venetian city, the harbour and
The restaurants.
I think to sum things up ,the hotel has lots and lots of returning guests, the staff know them as they are mostly locals who have been there many years and we hope to join them.We will definitely return,a totally wonderful hotel.Thank you.
