The drive to Delphi from Athens is stunning and you would love to see ruins in natural landscape with views of beautiful mountains, farms and blue sky.

I bought tickets to Delphi( and also the return ticket) one day before. The bus left Athens at 7:30 and it took 3 hours to reach there. I visited the area and also the museum has lunch and returned with the return bus at 16:30. I am really happy that I spent a day visiting Delphi.

Come here as part of day trip from Athens and definitely loving the experience. The ruins itself whilst amazing are located in a very scenic surroundings which makes your hike is very enjoyable. Ensure to hike all the way to the top where the stadium is, worth every effort!! There is also a very cute and tamed cat along the trail that will love some pats :)

The site is very interesting, if you are going independently from a tour visit the museum first then go to the ruins. This way you can see where things were found. But please, don’t just go and see the ruins and take a few pictures and leave: enjoy the beautiful scenery where this place is located. This is why the ancients pick the location. The views of The Valley is magnificent and gives you an incredible sense of peace. Enjoy it!

Stayed in the town over, Itea, and took a taxi to the ruins. We arrived just as the site was opening and it was worth it! by the time we were finishing, the crowds began lining up. Go early! breathtaking views of the city and the ruins are also pretty incredible to see. It is not hard to get to the top, but wear comfortable shoes.
