I visited with a friend for late lunch on Sunday.
It's a nice place - nothing fancy. Simple and clean.
The service is a bit slow due to the kitchen to my understanding. It took sometime to bring us the bread/olives/wine and then the food. Other than that it's ok. Kind, smiling and helpful.
The bruschetta didn't drive me crazy - was just ok but would not order again.
However, the linguini with vegetables and pesto as well as the linguini with dried tomatoes and..(can't remember what else!) were just excellent! Be careful - the portions are big so make sure you leave enough space to enjoy your meal.
It has a small selection of wines in good prices and for all tastes.
I would recommend that you make a reservation before going and bear in mind that on Sundays it closes at 19:00hrs.
To our surprise, pets were allowed. A beautiful but so quiet dog was sitting next to us.
Recommended! Enjoy your pasta!

My wife and I had two excellent meals at this small, quaint Italian restaurant. It is off the beaten path on a side street not far from the Acropoli Metro station. It is well worth seeking it out. On our first visit the server warned us it would a little longer than usual for our meals to arrive because each dish is freshly made to order. We had no problem with that. The taste of our meals on each visit was absolutely delicious. We will return. We certainly highly recommend this fine Italian restaurant.

After a couple of weeks traveling in Turkey and Greece, we were craving something different than the typical tourist fare...and searched for Italian food. We had also just been in Rome, so we imagined it would be hard to find anything that could live up to what we had just experienced. That said, we found AO&P on Tripadvisor and were so excited to give it a try. First off, they are off the "tourist trail" so we knew we were in the right place for us! Secondly, we had the BEST MEAL EVER! We opted for bruschetta, avocado salad and we got 3 pastas to share between 3 of us. We chose the house made pastas (bolognese, pesto & ravioli in butter sage) and they were all super fresh, the sauces were to die for and the portions were very ample. We wanted to keep eating, even when we got so full. Cute and lovely place, away from the crowds...feels like a place locals go. Just as good as any high end Italian restaurant in Italy! Besides how much souvlaki can one eat in one trip!?!?

The ambiance is nice, and our waitress made great suggestions. However, only certain pastas here are made in house, and you can taste the difference! My brother got the pappardelle and porcini mushroom, which was excellent and the best dish we ordered. The bruschetta and special eggplant appetizer was excellent. The other pastas all had linguine, which was not handmade; we saw the chef take the linguine out a plastic bag so....
Besides the porcini mushroom, the other pastas were too salty.

So if you only get the handmade pasta, it's definitely worth it! Otherwise, not as impressive.

We stopped in here our first night in Athens, pretty late off the plane, having avoided what we came to call 'the gauntlet' more mainstream tourist type restaurants with waiters attempting to pull you in off the street. We walked past here, the kitchen door was open and the food smelled devine. On walking in we were delighted to find it full of locals, low lighting, strips of tasteful 'fairy' lights, and a wonderful atmosphere. The food and service were just as good. Highly recommend. So much we went back later in the week...!
