We chose the hotel for its location and reviews and were not disappointed. It's close to the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum, near the restaurants and shops of the Plaka and was also, for us, a very short walk to pick up our hire car from one of the car rental companies on Syngrou Avenue when we left to tour the Peloponnese. The hotel itself is modern, gave us good buffet breakfasts in the pleasant ground floor breakfast area and also had a rooftop bar/restaurant from which you have a good view of the Acropolis. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant.
Our room was on the 4th floor looking over the front from a small balcony from which we could just see the Parthenon. Views will be better from higher up. The room was fine, modern and quiet, so we slept well. We returned later for one night when we had a rather small room at the back on the third floor but it was still fine for a city centre hotel.
We'd be happy to stay at the Hera again when next in Athens.More
