We love this hotel. We stayed at the Attalos 14 yrs ago during the Athens Olympics and it is still our favorite when in Athens.
The rooms are so economical, and retain the basic charm of inner city Athens. Rooms are well appointed with a refrigerator, TV, excellent air conditioning and a lovely renovated modern bathroom and amenities. We stayed on the 5th floor which had a balcony with a view of the Acropolis.
Their location is ideal, just a short 2 block walk to Monastiraki Square (the hub of the ancient quarter) where you can walk the Plaka, take the subway, or secure an On-Off bus tour. The Athens Central Market is just a few blocks in the opposite direction.
Our trip would not be as memorable if not for the excellent service received by all staff. I’d like to specifically recognize Kostas and Giannis for their daily support, and took it upon himself to contact our Greek island accommodation after they realized the phone number we were given was incorrect.
Another highlight of staying at the Attalos is their fabulous rooftop bar with an incredible view of the Acropolis. Angela was fantastic. She took care of us nightly serving us fabulous cocktails and wine, as well as providing off the beaten path recommendations.
It was so enjoyable to stay at the Attalos again and will return. I recommend the Attalos without hesitation.More
